I stayed at this hotel in 1981 and had the exact same experience, Showed up with a paid confirmation in hand only to be told I had no reservation. Fortunately, or unfortunately they did find a room in what can best be described as an 'annex'. I think it might have been where the employees stayed, a dump of a room. No apologies, no offer of a partial refund, nothing. And yes the employees do not appear to like Americans, but then they just might not like anyone. My friends parents arrive a few days later, and I will have to say their room was very nice, tile floor, four poster bed and an entire hinged wall that opened to the countryside. Not much nightlife in the area unless you sneak into Club Med down the streeet (not sure if it's still there)

Came here with confirmation in hand for a 1 week stay for my honeymoon and was told that the management did not have my reservation. Was feeling very sick (came down with Montezuma's revenge) and showed my paid confirmation again and was told that could stay only 1 nite and must leave. I stayed in the main house in a corner room with an old bed with steps I had to climb down to run to the bathroom every half hour, as I was becoming very sick. I was kicked out, sick as a dog, with my paid confirmation the next morning with my fiance and spent the rest of the week in Martinique sick as a dog. Will never forgive management at Manor de Beauregard for ruining my honeymoon, as it was closest to the best beach in Martinque. Americans beware, the management is French and hates Americans. Am now a travel agent and will never sell this property to my worst enemy. By the way, I stayed at the Leyritz Plantation in the main house, and the manager there was only a bit more friendly.
