“Lovely time at The Enchanted Garden”

Just returned from Vieques where we had a wonderful time. We stayed at The Enchanted Garden, we've stayed here before and were quite happy and decide to return. Amazing the improvements that Violet (the owner) has done to the place...new building with all studios, new landscaping and even a lovely fish pond. We stayed in one of the new king studios and was blown away by how nicely appointed it was. Great bed, nice little sitting area and a small kitchen area, it really had all the conveniences of home.

The place is really lovely and one of the best values you will find on the island. Can't wait to return for our next visit.

If you consider a "back Hoe",mud, major construction daily an acceptable alternative to a garden, you are on your own. The incredible noise level, no lights on stair ways during the evening made our stay impossible to enjoy. No 24 hour manager available. We requested and received our refund for unused nights, no discount on tortured nights used. We found other accommodations on the island that were great with a beautiful pool surrounded by magnificent gardens,

“Rocked out of bed”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 February 2008

There is an excercise class that starts at 9:30 am that is REALLY Loud and sits directly below the rooms. If you are at the biobay the night before and were planning on sleeping in you won't have a chance. The rooms are nicely furnished with some nice things like an elactric frying pan and microwave. There is never any staff around and they don't come to clean your room. The trash was never taken out and we couldn't find a place to take it too. This is a problem because we saw a few small roaches in the room. We also had wet towels for our entire stay. We tried to call someone to replace them and waited a long time for someone to arrive we finally got sick of waiting and left for the beach with wet towles again.

As hotel guest are our #1 priority here at The Enchanted Garden, upon check-in all guest are informed of our class time and are give the option to have the class canceled or rescheduled for their benefit.

Cleaning service is included in a weekly rental but not for a 2 night rental.

This guest was a party of 4 (2 adults and 2 children) that requested a studio room for 2 nights, (ingnoring the owners recommendation to book 2 adjoining rooms).

The common garbage area for the property is in clear view of the unit but as this guest was awaiting "room service", obvioulsy there was never a thought to remove their rubbish from their room.

Many guest hang their wet beach towels on the balcony or clothes lines on property, why the decision to keep wet towels in the room is a mystery to me.

As these are brand new rooms I am inclined to speculate that any pest in the room were brought to the property by the guest and a direct result of this guest unsanitary behavior.

“Truly Enchanting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2008

My wife and I just got back from a heavenly vacation to Puerto Rico and we are already planning our next trip back.

Of the 5 days in PR, we spent 2 days on the island of Vieques. December is the perfect time to visit this tiny paradise. The weather is fantastic, the beaches are awesome and the people are very friendly. Our host Violet, who owns and manages The Enchanted Garden Inn, exemplifies the last part perfectly.

Whether you are on a romantic getaway with your significant other or you and your family are trying to find a quiet place to relax and enjoy what the Caribbean has to offer, I would definitely recommend the Enchanted Garden Inn. The inn is tucked away near the town of Martineau in Vieques, a few minutes drive away from the beaches. While my wife and I were initially disappointed to not be within walking distance of the many lovely beaches that Vieques has to offer, we really enjoyed those early morning drives through the sleepy towns of Vieques. We ended up exploring this island rather thoroughly because of this and we are now glad we had this opportunity.

Vieques has so many secret beaches that you will need a SUV or jeep to explore them all. Finding the beaches is as mush fun as frolicking in the blue-green waters and walking the white sands. If you plan to visit in winter (the busy season), book your accomodation and transportation atleast a month in advance.

This property has studio and multi-bedroom lodgings. We have already promised her that we will be back with friends next winter. Her prices are reasonable, ranging from 120-150 (total) per day for the studio.

Hope you have as much fun as my wife and I did on our trip there.

“Beautiful, convenient, relaxing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2008

We stayed at Enchanted Garden over Christmas of 2007. The entire experience was beautiful. Enchanted Garden is located on a nice piece of property with mango, banana, and coconut trees. At night, you fall asleep to the harmonic sounds of tree frogs and crickets. The rooms in the house are spacious and clean. The house has a nice sized kitchen for meal prep. There is also on site laundry and an outdoor shower (there is a nice indoor shower for the more modest). Violet, the owner/inn keeper was a joy and very helpful with tips and interesting perspectives on the island. We would love to return to Vieques and Enchanted Garden.
