My husband and I stayed here the week before Christmas and because it happened to be a slow week, we were upgraded to miracoco when we got there. This was a gorgeous place overlooking the water. Unfortunately we couldn't use the beach because the wind and waves were too rough while we were there. Our room was beautiful with a great balcony and it was great to stay somewhere off the beaten track. Marc, the manager, was very cool and helpful, sitting down with us at check-in and circling on a map all the great places to see and recommend restaurants and activities we should check out while there. Great place, great experience, would definitely return. We also stayed at hix island house which was very different but also great. We were glad that we were able to check out both places.

My wife and I got married on the grounds at Evamer in late August, in what can only be described as the 'perfect wedding'. Along with the usual stresses of a do-it-yourself wedding, we arrived in Puerto Rico just after Tropical Storm Irene had left, turning into a hurricane, and leaving much of the islands without water and power! Marc was exceptional! Not only did he work around the clock to politely answer questions, provide island insight, clean up the aftermath of Irene, and help us maintain our sanity, he's a great guy and now a friend. The Evamer grounds are great, too-- right on the water, eclectic, clean, and 'just right' for Vieques. Having spent a week at Evamer, josling family/friends arrivals/depatures, a wedding and reception, and ample time for relaxation, I can say that Evamer (and Marc) is the perfect all-around place to stay while on Vieques. We've been on Vieques several times, and for value, quality of the rooms, access to the water, and quality of the manager-- you can't beat Evamer.

My husband and I stayed at EvaMer for a week in April (about 2 weeks before Easter). This was a last minute getaway, but Marc, the manager, helped with everything we needed and more! We were upgraded since they had low occupancy - to the unit overlooking the water. What a way to wake up...to the sound of the waves, and the blue ocean out your window - just gorgeous! Marc gave us the low down on beaches and restaurants, although, you'll get to know the island in a few days. We could have used a change of beach towels durung the week, but I'm sure we could have gotten that had we asked. The kitchenette and unit was plenty of room for us, and the pool and access to walking beach were great too. Quiet and relaxing all around. Eva Mer provided beach chairs, towels, and cooler for our beach visits... no nickel & diming - just easy.

We chose to stay at Evamer for our honeymoon, on the advice from good friends and after reading these reviews. We couldn't have been happier with the trip. The Evamer grounds are beautiful and El Cottage was perfect for us. Marc was great to deal with and Timmy was really helpful when we arrived. The Island has so much to offer, we had an adventure every day!
