“Thank you!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 October 2011

We came over to Vieques from Rio Grande for a day trip. We fell in love with the island and were so happy at the Inn on the Blue Horizon that we ended up staying for three nights.

The rooms were great. Clean, fresh linens, and comfortable beds for a good night's rest after a day of adventure. Spent plenty of time at the open air bar having well made tasty drinks The property was amazing. Beautiful view of the ocean, horses wandering about, and an easy walk to town.

Everyone on the staff was warm and welcoming- from the guys a the front desk, to Adam at the bar, to the waitress at breakfast. The pool was lovely- day and night. We never knew that stars could shine so brightly! Our entire experience made us feel like we were in on a well kept secret. The only bad part of our stay was having to leave.

Can't wait to come back. A big thank you to everyone at Inn on the Blue Horizon.

“Serene, beautiful and utterly relaxed”

Although we were only there for 2 nights, we wished it was 10 times longer...from keeping the restaurat open late as we were going to be late arriving, helping us arrange a hire car and making every moment run smoothly, the staff were fantastic.
The settings were beautiful, from the wild horses across the (very bumpy) driveway, to the fantastic views from the veranda and the poolside. Plus the food was, if not cheap, very very good.
No tv, no internet - and despite us being the type of people that would use those daily, they weren't missed - this isn't that type of place. Rustic, simple, elegant - this is the place to go to forget your cares and just relax
Will we be going back? Absolutely

Room Tip: No idea here...but we stayed in

We stayed here for a couple of nights and it was our first time on Vieques. We were very happy with our stay at the Inn on the Blue Horizon. It's got a beautiful island feel to it but with a splash of sophistication. The Inn is about a five-minute drive from Esperanza so I think its probably got one of the best locations. You can easily go into town for meals. The bar and restaurant at the Inn on the Blue Horizon are very good as well, so if you don't want to go out at night, it's a decent choice. The rooms are simple, island style but very comfortable. The staff were great as well. I think the inn caters best to independent travellers. Each room comes with a cooler and beach chairs so you can travel to different beaches during the day. So to get the most out of a trip to Vieques, rent a car and get around (we used Maritza's and had no problem). Be flexible, because it's a small island, they do run out of produce. But both Vieques and the Inn offer a relaxed vibe in a beautiful location.

Room Tip: The Neptune suite is lovely

“Blue Gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 August 2011

My stay lasted 6 nights. I came to Vieques to visit a friend and wanted to stay in a nice place, and decided that this was the way to go. What a perfect choice! Its quiet if you want to relax and take a load off, or if you want company and some good laughs, spend some time at the Moon bar and talk to the awesome, well trained staff. If you make good friends there, or even at the front desk, you can find yourself having a drink (or four) with the staff at the local bar after the hotel bar closes.

The food- OH THE FOOD. Even though youre looking at a beautiful landscape and the blue ocean while youre dining, the plates that come out grab your attention and your taste buds.
I had breakfast which consisted of a stack of deeelish chocolate chip pancakes that came with seasonal fruit: starfruit, local mango and the sweetest ruby red grapefruit I've ever had. That night the bartender told me I MUST try a snickers flan. I took one bite and was immediately reminiscent of my childhood.
Compliments to the chef!

The hotel rooms are comfortable and inviting. When youre in such a beautiful place, why spend it all inside anyway? The pool is a minute away, so I baked in the sun and swam in the crisp cool water.

If I ever find myself on the island again, I will definitely stay here. Even more, when I get married, this will be the perfect place.

“Beautiful Inn that was really on a blue horizon!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 July 2011

This was the last stop of our honeymoon and it was amazing! The hotel room was very small but that was ok. The bathroom was rather small and it was very damp in the room but that was understandable since it rains so much there.

The infinity pool is as awesome as it looks. We took a couple drinks down to the water and just relaxed. We had dinner at the hotel and the food was incredible, everything tasted amazing. Breakfast was included and was equally good.

Be warned the location of the hotel isn't where is shows up on the maps. The hotel is about half a mile West of Esperanza! Google for some strange reason shows it on the northern side of the island.
