This is a quaint and delightful place to stay for a night. The only reason I don't say more than 1 night is that there was little to do on the weekdays we were there (the art museum was closed, trolley tour was not running, and most nearby restaurants were closed in the evening.) The owner (I thought his name was Roberto but I now see it must be Humberto!) was extremely personable and welcoming - really he is an exceptional host. He went out of his way to help park our car, assist wtih bags, share some history and show us to a local restaurant that he obviously sends many guests to. The hotel is nicely decorated and comfortable as well as very clean. The rooms are spacious with plenty of places to put your things, everything was in working order and we were able to get a hair dryer from the desk. Other staff were friendly but had few recommendations to offer. Go across the street for a down to earth local breakfast experience. There were few dinner options - however, the Ramada outdoor courtyard was very decent and not what you might expect. There is also a fun place to get a frozen treat (King's creme I think it's called). The old section of Ponce was interesting to walk around, and you can imagine how beautiful it must have been. There are some lovely restored buildings, but sadly much of it is run down. Many vacancies and tacky shops - did not see any fine artisans that others mentioned; perhaps they are only there certain days.
