This hotel is in a wonderful situation on the beach outside Ponce in south Puerto Rico. The pool is quite large and there is ample room and sun loungers around it. There are also Tiki huts on the beach available to guests.
A free shuttle bus takes guests on request to the golf club where there is another pool and a fine cafe - Sancho`s - serving excellent snacks and sushi.
The hotel has extensive grounds for strolling and bicycles are available for guests to use and there are many other activities available for both adults and children.
The rooms are very large with ample storage space and overlook the ocean and sunset. The Executive wing is a separate unit and requires a walk from it to the main part of the hotel - this can be either inside or outside.
All the staff are pleasant, friendly, and helpful.
The only drawback is the Executive Lounge which is a wasted asset for the hotel. It is open for breakfast from 6.00 to 9.00 a.m. and, for those on vacation, this negates any chance of a late rise in the morning. It is then closed until 6.00 p.m. - again it would be useful to be able to pop in for a coffee or soft drink after a morning`s golf or trip. The breakfast is a minimum continental, only orange juice, cornflakes or special K, some fruit, and bread/bagels. On two of the mornings ther was almost nothing left by 8.15 a.m. and we were given vouchers for the main restaurant. The evening refreshments are also mimimal with only Puerto Rico Rum or soft drink available with only one or two types of snack. The room itself is very nice with a view from inside or outside of the ocean and sunset but is unavailable from 9.00 a.m. until 6.00 p.m.

My husband and I spent New Years weekend at the Hilton Ponce. The hotel was very nice. it took advantage of the wonderful Ponce weather with the main area of the hotel open to the outside. The pool area was very nice with plenty of seating around the pool. The beach was great and the rooms were in good condition with the comfy Hilton beds.

Our favorite part was the golf course. The hotel has 27 holes so you can mix together 9's to get different rounds each time. Each 9 was a little different. All had wind to contend with. Each 9 had one hole that played up to the ocean for some great views. They also have the only island green on one of the par 3's. The course was not busy and it was in good shape. We played golf in Dorado as well, but this course was much more interesting and in better shape than the Dorado del Mar or Plantation courses in Dorado.

When we go back to Puerto Rico for another golf vacation- we will definitely return to the Ponce Hilton.

We spent the New Year Holiday in a 5 bedroom villa of the Golf community. It was beautiful and everyone agreed it was one of the best trips we made. The resort has it's own club house and peaceful pool area steps from the beach. The weather was perfect. The Hilton is a short walk over the bridge for the gym, hotel restaurants, casino. They have a shuttle between the villa resort and the hotel. The ride from San Juan to Ponce is a little over an hour and the scenery over the mountains is spectacular. The golf course has 27 holes and is in fantastic shape.
This side of Puerto Rico is a hidden jem to be discovered by visitors.

We just finished our fifth visit here over the Christmas holiday and, once again, it was a great time and a great value. The staff is wonderful and treat us like family. The accommodations are wonderful and the service is great. I would highly recommend this resort for families looking for a great place that is also a great value.
