“Everything you need was in this hotel”

I went for a quick getaway over President's Day Weekend. It was my first time in Puerto Rico and I didn't see much of San Juan because I didn't want to leave the hotel. I was camped out at the upper level pool for 4 days. It was relaxing and I got the best tan. It was very centrally located and I rented a car, but I didn't need it. I ate all of my meals at the hotel and loved it.

“Great Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 May 2012 NEW

La Concha made our beach bacherlorette weekend one of the best vacations I have ever had. The service was impeccable and everyone was more than hospitable. One of the attendants, Carlos Alvarez, gave us some the the best service. He was always welcome to give us advice on some the best restaurants and entertainment on the island. I would definitely recommend this hotel. It gives top service!

“Great Location and Views”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 May 2012 NEW

My husband and I stayed here the week prior to Memorial Day. The hotel is close to the airport ($16US flat rate via taxi). It took less than 10 minutes to get to the hotel. Check in was a breeze and the room was clean. We stayed in an oceanfront 1 bedroom king. The room was so bright and inviting.

There is a parking deck on site. Parking can get crazy especially on the weekend.

The hotel has many pools and hot tubs if you decide not to go on the beach. They seems to be more children in the pools than on the beach so if you're trying to relax opt for the beach. They provide chairs and umbrellas on a first come first serve basis, so get to the beach before noon for a prime spot. Things seemed to calm down around 5pm by that time you can choose anywhere you want to sit.

There are a variety of restaurants and bars in walking distance. Sushi, authentic Puerto Rican, deli (Subway), Starbucks, Dunkin Doughnuts, Ben & Jerry's so on... Across the street are high end shops like Gucci and Louis Vuitton. They is truly something for everyone.

The location is safe. It seems like PR put a lot of effort sprucing up this part of town. I felt safe walking around in the morning and afternoon alone. Everyone seems friendly and helpful. At night there is a younger crowd. Not rowdy but tourist and locals out just enjoying themselves.

I will definitely return again. Great place to stay!

Room Tip: As always the higher the floor the better the view.

Stayed one night prior to a cruise. Checked in Saturday with no problems. Felix lived up to his reviews, he welcomes you with open arms and really makes you feel appreciated when you arrive to stay at this hotel. Was warned about the noise city side at check-in. Yes, it was a little noisy at night but no were near what I was expecting according to other reviews. The beach was beautiful with easy access to chairs and umbrellas, the beach staff was super friendly and did not make me feel as if I needed to tip them but I did anyway because how friendly, fast, and accommodating they where. Had lunch by the pool, service was a little slow but food arrived fresh and hot so no big deal. I could see were the glass shower could be a little awkward with mixed company, but my wife and I had no issues with this setup, because I have seen worse bathrooms like that of the Palomar in Chicago were the bathroom door is a slider that slides on the outside of the bathroom with about a 3 inch gap all the way around with absolutely no privacy for the entire bathroom.
Location is great with plenty of provisions within walking distance; Wendy's, dunk n donuts, Walgreens, chili's, liquor store, and a great semi-local restaurant orozcos(try the mufango). The lobby bar definitely becomes the place to be after 11, great drinks great bar tenders. Even the casino is a little small but plenty of games for all and quite nice. $12 dollar cab ride plus bags and tip from the airport not bad.
Room was clean and big, all staff very friendly and always ready to assist. Elevators a little slow especially when half of them broke throughout the day, stuff happens can't really blame the hotel for this. All in all beautiful hotel in a great location friendly helpful staff, good times.

Room Tip: new tower suites are big, have fridge microwave and living room, large balcony.

We booked this hotel four months ago, February 16th, and were GUARANTEED a room with TWO queen beds. We called Orbitz for the special request of two queen beds and Orbitz confirmed the request with La Concha. Then, to double check, I personally called La Concha to confirm the reservation for two queen beds; they confirmed. We just checked in, expecting to get a room with two queen beds; we got a room with ONE "king size" bed. My family of FOUR will not fit into ONE bed. This is unacceptable! We are staying here for 8 days and myself, my husband, and my two daughters who are 18 and 21 are expected to sleep in one bed, that is 6 inches bigger than a queen, for 8 days or until an acceptable room "opens up"... I don't think so. VERY DISAPPOINTED. I would have NEVER booked a hotel room for four adults with only ONE bed!!!
