The room is okay, but certainly not great. There is a lot of noise, especially from the club and bar downstairs. No views what-so-ever. Housekeeping only when requested. Location okay, but not great for the money,

Stayed at Da House roughly same timeframe (Dec.27-28), and same floor as apparently unhappy customer below, but we knew what to expect and loved this place! Perfect spot for exploring Old San Juan and launching pad for 8-day island exploration. Brought earplugs with us, but my advice - take the purple ones they offer you at the front desk. All earplugs are not created equal!

We had a wedding to go to in Old San Juan and didn't want to spend too much money. The place was clean, very convenient if your entire trip is to be spent in Old San Juan. The room we got was directly above the salsa club and it certainly was LOUD with a stunning view of the alley. They warned us when we checked in that we could take some earplugs or "just join the party" - which lasted until about 5am every night. Very basic furniture - no frills at this place.. Good cultural boutique hotel (which unfortunately is not my thing). Definitely not a place to stay if looking for a 'Caribbean experience'.

The location of this hotel right off of La Plaza del Colon can't be beat. The staff was so helpful and friendly. The art is funky, the building had a great, old San Juan feel, and the hot tub on the roof made watching New Year's Eve fireworks unforgettable. I had a center room on the 4th floor that was listed as "partial noise" which still required ear plugs. I stayed here for five nights and by the third night I was used to the night club noise to fall asleep without them.

My only disclaimer: Da House must have an arrangement with Allied Car Rental as they helped me and other patrons book reservations with them. I've NEVER received worse customer service than Allied. They were absolutely awful.
