to start - when plane got delayed even though we gave 12hrs notice they still charged the day. When a friend from Miami joined us and we needed a larger room for the 2nd day $50 cancellation fee along with a huge charge for the bigger room.

Forget avg price $110 a night they nail you for every possible fee.

The rooms were ok but there was no pool or internet and difficult to find. When baggage got delayed they couldnt find it either.

This is not a hotel its a an apartment that might rent for $250 a month at most. Neighborhood ok lots of police around.

I don't think I've ever written a negative review, but this place and the management they have no look at every traveler as if they were a sucker.

I tried to book this quaint little inn and realized they were unable to give me a definite quote. I was quoted 3 different prices and each one got higher and higher. Beware, you wont find honesty here.

I can't even rate this hotel as a terrible experience because I never actually got to have the experience. My boyfriend and I went down to Puerto Rico over spring break this March. My boyfriend called and talked to a woman in February at least 3 times. She kept telling him how we'd have our own parking spot and everything. So we booked it. We got down to San Juan and all that was left of El Prado Inn was an empty, vacant lot. We found a mail man and he confirmed that that was El Prado Inn's address and that it had been torn down for quite some time now. We had to run around trying to find vacant rooms at other hotels. We called the woman when we got there and she never answered or called us back. Do not (try) to stay at this hotel!

We went to San Juan, PR about 2 years ago, for Valentine's Day weekend (2005) We went with another couple (good friends or ours) We got one of the the 2 bed suites (the beds are about Queen size) The room was nice and spacious, with our own private bathroom, a kitchen area and balcony. The area was nice, right next to a park and within 5 min. wallking distance to the beach and some restaurants. The room was clean, and spacious...although you cannot compare this to a 5 star hotel. If you are someone who is used to the fancy hotels, then this place might not be for you. This is more for people who are on a budget and want to have fun. Again, we are also used to nice things clean things, and this hotel provided everything that we needed, including giving us more of a PR feel. San Juan is actually very americanized, sort of reminds me of Miami...if you want more of the culture feel try going to the other side of the island..and if you get the chance go to Culebra (need to catch a ferry) It will be useful to have a rental car if you do want to drive around and see what PR has to offer. But if you want to stay in the San Juan area, I hear that you can take .25 cent bus rides to places including Old Town San Juan, which is a must go, go to the castle and take lots of pictures.
