“Charming by the ocean”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 March 2011

If you're looking for a low cost place, right on the ocean, to stay, you probably can't beat this place. Some minor cosmetic problems but nothing that impacted our comfort and enjoyment of this inn.
Hostess very personable and helpful. The back patio that looks out over the ocean is wonderful beyond words.
Is located less than a block from one bus line and near other - both lines go to downtown Old San Juan.
The beach here is one of the best we found in Puerto Rico.
Near shopping and a casino and a city park.
A Burger King across the street.

“Long ago, but...it seems consistent to current info.”

Great budget to middle range hotel. The place was close to the beach and Old San Juan. The restaurant Ajili Mojili was recommend and at the time the food was superb! Customer service was fantastic, too. Close to other things you might need...food especially.

I ,too, recommend the commons or plan on visiting the city. The room is basic, but it was a comfortable bed. The A/C was wonderful since it was sooo hot!

Parking was difficult; but if I recall they kept all the rental keys at the front desk to move the cars as needed. Yes, 4 is max. Driving in the city of San Juan is for the aggressive driver. We had someone stop in the middle of the interstate/freeway and the other driver stopped too to have a heated discussion. Red means wait a few moments to go because yellow still means go for most! Many locations do not have signs especially outside of SanJuan.

“won't stay here again”

Parking is a nightmare-you have to park inside the property on the deck and there could be up to 2 cars behind you. If you want to get out, you have to move those cars, then put them back. The place is very outdated and the deck facing the ocean only has a couple ratty plastic chairs, a broken table and a couple lounge chairs. You can't get to the beach because the stairway is broken, so you have to walk to the next hotel and go down their stairs. There was supposed to be wi-fi but it didn't work.

“Good Location, but Over priced”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 May 2010

This is a nice small guest house. By small I mean the room was extremely small, reminded me of something you would find in Europe. Location is great, right on the beach in Condado. The staff was nice. The parking is a HASSLE! No parking lot, they do have a drive way that will fit 3 - 4 cars, one in front of the other which is a hassle when you want to get out. Otherwise you need to find parking on the street- good luck with that! I felt it was way overpriced and would have paid a little more for something bigger and with parking. But otherwise, a nice little guesthouse.

“Location, Location, Location.......but not for the picky!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 April 2010

The other reviews were pretty much dead on for this place!

Here's the good stuff:

1) The location is fabulous - Oceanfront, tucked away besides the La Concha resort and within a block or 2 of the Marriott
2) Tons of restaurants (Wendy's at the front door), shops, bars, and a 24-hour Walgreens all within blocks. The Condado area has sort of a North Miami Beach feel to it.
3) It's an Inn, so you get that "Local's touch" and very personal assistance.
4) For around $100, you're doing really well for this area. My research came up with at least double for anything close.
5) If you are traveling with a group of friends (as we were), this is a perfect place since you can all socialize on the common patio (room 4 is a good choice for this).
6) I felt very safe there.

And, the not-so-hot:

1) Let's just say...if you are going to be spending a lot of time in your room, this place is not for you.....it's basic at best.
2) The rooms could use a little TLC. It's clean, but not sparkling.
3) The bathrooms left a LOT to be desired. TINY. Some rooms were better (or worse) than others.
4) The wi-fi was pretty spotty....you pretty much had to be sitting in the lobby to get it to work!

If you keep your expectations low......and plan on staying very busy while you are there.... give it a shot!!!! If you need something a little more on the posh side, keep looking!
