We have stayed at the Embassy on about ten occasions. This is not "The Ritz". It is a great location. The staff is friendly and accomodating. The rooms are small but clean. Again, you can go for $300 a night at the Marriott or the Condado Plaza and eat at Burger King or have a pizza, or you can save a few bucks at the Embassy and dine at some of the finest restaurants in the hemisphere. We prefer the latter

We recently made an unplanned weekend visit to San Juan Puerto Rico. Knowing it was low season in the Caribbean, we arrived on a friday morning without a hotel reservation.

Upon our arrival we checked around and found out there were few rooms available in San Juan. However, we were able to book a room at the Embassy Guesthouse in the Condado.

The staff was extremely helpful and allowed us an early checkin upon our arrival at 9:30am. They actually went out of their way with smiles to prepare our room. The room was clean and the bed was perfect. The location on the beach was also outstanding.

When we returned home we were so surprised to read some of the past negative reviews on the Embassy as they did not represent any of the positive experiences we had encountered at the Embassy.

We cannot wait to return to the Embassy and will highly recommend this newly discovered Guesthouse to anyone who asks.

I enjoyed my stay and room at the Embassy Guesthouse Condado. I will definitely recommend to all of my friends and family. All the staff was very friendly and helpful during my stay.

My partner and I made reservations for several days at this so-called "Bed and Breakfast"...and we were shocked to see this place. It is more like a "pension" where rooms are rented by the hour! We saw some pictures (obviously several years old) and we thought the place couldn't be bad........but we were soooo wrong. When we got into our room, we immediately started calling around other B&B's in the area for availability and luckly we found a room for the next day (and for the rest of our stay) at Tres Palmas in Ocean Park (very nice place). However, we had to stay for one night and it was depressive!

After making sure we had reservation at Tres Palmas, we called the front desk to cancel our stay, the lady at the front desk, asked us what was wrong with their place......obvioulsy they don't think the place is that bad!!!! They failed to see that when people are on vacation, and pay pretty good money for a room, they deserve a "nice and clean" place to stay and most importanly a nice place TO REST!. We got a dirty room, where we could see hair on the bathroom floor, the windows could not open, the smell was awful, the bed sheets were so thin that you could see the matress, the front gate didn't lock (so anyone could come in from the street) the noise level was unbelieveable, specially when the garbage truck drove by at 5 AM and construction started next door at 6 AM.....oh boy, it was pure hell!. Here is the trick though.......they required a 48 hour cancelation notice-it is their policy-so when you decide to cancel the rest of your stay, they don't care because they still get paid at least for two nights. I thought it was a scam, but it works for them. We complained to the owner, a French guy, when we checked out the next day and he was rude and unapologetic. So we decided to put it behind us, paid the price for our mistake and we ran as fast as we could from this place....it was the best thing to do to start enjoying our vacation in Puerto Rico.
