“Beautiful, safe, friendly”

Acacia is a boutique hotel - come here if you want a quiet, personal experience, with fewer amenities but more style. The pros: this hotel is half a block from the beautiful Condado public beach, 3 minutes from a bus that takes you to Old San Juan, near the totally sweet breakfast joint Pinky's, in a very up-scale and safe neighborhood, near some pretty good nightlife, has an awesome huge hot tub and wonderful helpful staff [Chad!], and is close to a 24-hour supermarket. The street was peaceful and you could see the Caribbean from our window. The cons: Condado (the neighborhood) is wealthy, whitewashed, and not exactly "authentic" - you'd have to travel somewhere else for a good Puerto Rican restaurant or bar. Overall, I highly recommend this place and would definitely stay here again.

“Great little hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

Acacia was great little fine. Room was clean. The pool was awesome. We stayed at Acacia on Friday the 13 of Jan. 2012. The staff was great when we check in and great when we check out. We left Saturday the 14th for a cruise. The young lady behind the desk called a cab for us. Little did we know their was a big festival. She said that their wasn't any cab because of the festival. But she kept calling and got us a cab to the ship. The only thing i was disappointed in is that we were going to eat breakfast at the restaurant and it wasn't open. If you want a quiet little place to stay this is it.

Stayed at Acacia for 2nights before cruise .It lives up to all of the positive comments on previous reviews. The key distinguishment in my opinion is the service oriented focus of the entire staff.they are the real deal...Chad,Claudio,Ari,Susanna. Try it folks...you wont be disappointed.Im already planning on doing a drive-around Puerto Rico trip next winter and will most definately utilize Acacia as the starting point and terminus of my trip..plus some time in Culebra which they told me was great. Enjoy!

“Perfect base for San Juan”

We had a great 5 night stay here. Front desk staff here (and at Windchimes, the sister hotel where we parked) could not have been more helpful in every way. Location in Condado comfortable for walking home at night and one block from the beach - but on a very quiet residential street. Loved the hot tub each night (really a 10x30 pool at a higher-than usual temperature.) On-site restaurant was small and closed one night so we didn't explore. Plenty of other places to eat locally though. Easy to drive or take bus to Old San Juan, close to highway to get to El Yunque, Luquillo, etc.

Room Tip: rooms a little small and not worth springing for a balcony - A/C units are very loud on balcony

“An oasis in Ocean Park San Juan”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

We stayed at the Acacia our last 3 days in San Juan. As everyone has said, it is not a resort. It is a lovely little hotel tucked away in a residential section of San Juan literally steps from the beach. Our balcony overlooked their huge jacuzzi. You'd think it would be noisy but actually the room was very quiet. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony with the breakfast we bought at a nearby 24 hour well stocked supermarket. We heard raves about the Niche restaurant there but being on a budget led us more to the local restaurants and the supermarket. The Niche was a bit pricey for us but well worth it I'm told. My only complaint was a lack of mini-fridge in the room. Understandable since they have their own restaurant. The Acacia is not close to Old San Juan but a block away from the bus route there. The front desk people were helpful with bus route and other information. They kindly allowed us to leave our luggage when we arrived early and left late. If you're looking for a quiet, comfortable place to stay, the Acacia's the one.
