We'd reserved a room at this hotel because six of our friends had already booked for a three-day pre-cruise stay. After reading the negative reviews on Tripadvisor we were apprehensive about staying there. Happily, on our arrival we were treated well and stayed in a very spacious and comfortable room. The rooftop pool and bar were particularly nice. The staff were very accomodating without being overbearing. The location was great - it was close to the beach, lots of restaurants were nearby and the bus stop to get to Old San Juan was just outside the hotel. We were more than satisfied with our stay, as were the three other couples we were travelling with.

We had a great time but I did not like the beach, the water with the waves is dangerous. A taxi driver told us that some tourists sunk every year.
The service at the hotel was very good. The room comfortable and very clean.

Stayed with this hotel prior to / and after cruise. Upon initial check in was not greeted warmly or offered luggage assistance with our many bags. They frequently offered and pushed for taxi use (many many were outside at all times) when a 2 minute walk to the bus saved $20 each way to just about everywhere we wanted to go.
Upon return from cruise - we were very early before check In - they did secure our bags ... But instead of telling us it would be Several Hours (8) before we would even be checked in - we were encouraged to be on the "waiting list for early room". As we waited essentially in the Lobby for those hours an Entire day was wasted.
Not nice people, not helpful people, and I would not encourage business

I was here on a business trip and stayed extra days after for some R&R. I had a room on the 8th floor(business/penthouse) and everthing was great except the jacuzzi did not work but who needs a jacuzzi when the ocean in a few yards away ;) with that said- I really (we really) enjoyed our stay here and in San Juan- I would stay here again!
