we loved staying here because it was an older hotel. our room was right on the water. this hotel was great. we had to go next door to the la ocncha to use their pool. which was one of the benifits of the stay. i liked it. this was a quality building. super quiet. la concha was great for going over and being by the pool. and hanging out. but the place was new and big and almost looked like the was stapled together.

i loved el canerio. solid, well built. classy. simple, clean and comfortable. and that balcony just outside the room !!! totally private....... you could hear the waves crashing !! oh... it does not get much more romantic that that.

there was a nice, simple (again classy) breakfast buffet. little more than continental. just what we needed.

would stay there again in a heartbeat.

It was recommended by some People that we met at the Condado wild eating at a restaurant nearby. The price and the location is just great, the staff was great and help full. Very clean and a lots of towels.

Don't let the heat in the lobby discourage you: Your room will be cool, clean, and comfortable. This hotel was apparently built before central air conditioning, as the entrance and lobby window have no doors and glass (a secure curtain covers them, apparently, during storms or when traffic is not anticipated.) This hotel is in a perfect location 2 blocks from Condado Beach, a very safe and secure area. Though not fancy, our group of 24 was comfortably and affordably housed here for two nights at the start of our Puerto Rican tour. Plenty of dining options in the area, and the bus to Old San Juan is two blocks away. Continental breakfast included.

The El Canario by the Lagoon was clean, grounds well kept, comfortable rooms, and the staff were really pleasant and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was adequate if small on selection, but everything was fresh. This hotel has an elevator, WiFi and good airconditioning. We stayed at the very top which had a wonderful rooftop garden. The hotel is close to everything with major casinos within easy walking distance. You really won't find a better deal in this great location.
