We loved staying here! Beautiful property, a wonderful place to hang. Well kept. The staff could not have been more helpful with anything we needed. Very friendly. Beautiful views from our room. Great location. The few cons were:1) the elevator near our room was broken (no sign), 2) when we first arrived it was hard to find both the building & our room, there was limited signage - we would have liked a map of the area - we stayed in the Villas, & we were lost getting there.( & we met other folks who had the same concern with getting lost 3) no wireless in the rooms, which we think could have been a nice perk since it is a modern hotel in a big city.

“Good Hotel for pre and post cruise”

We stayed at the Caribe Hilton for one night before a cruise, flying from the UK and getting to the hotel early evening. We stayed again after the cruise for two nights that enabled us to get on the BA flight schedule again. I had read varying reviews of this hotel and therefore had an open mind as to what to expect. I found in general the staff helpful, They provided early check in on asking when we came off the cruise ship and provided late check out when we had an evening flight back to the UK. The room was comfortable and not as noisy as I had expected from other reviews.
The restaurants were a little indifferent. The Italian I would not bother with again. They are trying to be Italian however the evening we went they really could not be bothered and the food was not of a high standard. Mortons is typical Morton's steakhouse, expensive but good quality. Lemongrass restaurant was a good standard but overpriced in my opinion.
Breakfasts were of reasonable quality but quite pricy for what you got.
The beach bar/ restaurant was Ok but nothing special.
Overall a good hotel for transiting between cruise ships and flights however not somewhere I would actively stay at for a full holiday.

Room Tip: Choose on of the refurbished ocean view rooms

“Nice location...old hotel”

I booked a room for the Caribe and asked for an upgrade. Since there is a language barrier I thought the desk help said there were none available. So when I got a room in the attached property of the "Villas" and found it to be old, in need of paint and far from the rest of the property, I thought since I didnt get upgraded I wouldnt complain. Then when the bill came I found out that it was an upgraded room with the charge for it. I called to complain that this was not what I would call an upgraded room, but they said I had initialed the check in paper so therefore the charge would stand. When I ask to talk to a manager , they said one would call me back, but never did. So I overpaid for an old tired room, with an ocean view if you leaned out over the balcony. I would have rather stayed in a lower priced room in the main hotel.

Room Tip: Stay in the main hotel not the Villas unless you want things like a stove, dishwasher etc and don...

“Worst Hilton ever been too...should have been Crap-ibe Hilton”

We had a room in the tower. We left after one day. Disgusting. Breakfast was horrible - cold.
Drink order was all messed up. We checked out early and moved to the Ritz. We ran into another couple that had also checked out. I am a Diamond Member and still think this is a big joke. This is NOT a 4 star hotel. What a joke !!!

Room Tip: Do not stay here !!!

“Beautiful Resort; pricey food”

This was a beautiful resort with a private beach that allowed you to feel secluded from the hustle and bustle of San Juan. It's within walking distance of Old San Juan. The newly renovated bathrooms in the tower are beautiful and the lush landscaping is tropical heaven. The staff is truly welcoming and helpful.

However, there were never enough chairs/loungers for all the guests -- although they had many, many loungers stacked up and locked against the retaining wall. I was there during a holiday weekend, and they should have had more loungers out for the guests since the resort was full. The food is very pricey ... I walked to the Subway across the street for a lunchtime sandwich.
