Truly relaxing beach hotel, it is off the beaten path, at the end of a upper middle-class neighborhood street, service was good, room great, disconnect from worries immediate. Area has good restaurants and bakery within safe walking distance. Edgardo gave a us a room upgrade to beach view, an added plus. Good a/c.

IOur "apartment" was shabby and run down. Nearby areas we had to walk by to get to our room were falling apart and dirty. The room was not as booked. The water was not working (later told they shut it off to fix downstairs toilet). The deck area was very dirty and had only one chair so it was not usable. The blinds did not work well. The sofa bed was disgusting and very uncomfortable but we had to use it. The air conditioner in the kitchen/living area blew air that smelled of mildew. We asked 4 times for an extra blanket and it was promised but never brought. The blanket we did have had holes in it. There were no glasses or paper towels in the "kitchen." The place seems grossly understaffed - the front desk clerk seems to do everything and simply cannot manage. The location on the beach is very nice. The restaurant is pricey but the food is very good. Service is fair in the restaurant - again, the few staff seem stretched.

It's right on the beach in a gated community, so it's safe to walk around the neighborhood, and your neighbors on the beach are upscale. The restaurant is expensive but delicious, although the entrees have too much food. You can just order the appetizers or split an entree, unless you want a double portion. The cocktails are outrageously expensive and phony, at least my Cosmo was. Ask for the cocktail menu before ordering. The front desk people are delightful - the waitstaff not so.

We had about half our guests stay here when we traveled to PR for our destination wedding. We didn't have the wedding here, but we hosted a few breakfasts and a happy hour while we were staying here. It was a great staging ground for all of our guests to gather in the beautiful beach front lounge and restaurant or hang out on the beach itself. If you are expecting a resort-like hotel, you will be disappointed. This is really more of a B&B atmosphere with a great location on the beach. But if you want something locally-owned, unique and low-key with a personality, then this is the place! The rooms in the front facing the water are tastefully renovated, but I would recommend avoiding the standard rooms and apartments in the back because they haven't been updated in a long time. What the property lacks in amenities, it makes up for in charm and friendliness. The staff is very fun and welcoming - especially Gladys, Edgardo and Dimas and the owners (a young husband and wife team) are extremely thoughtful and considerate. They personally went out of their way to make us feel at home during our week-long stay and helped us with a few last minute details.

A few things that would improve this property: 1. consistent hot water (it tends to be tepid, which most of our friends who have traveled through the Caribbean say is not uncommon in smaller properties, but most of us were not used to this. However, the owners started installing extra solar panels the week we were there to increase more heat.) 2. Hardware - the doors and windows have old locks, handles, etc. which seem to stick and this detail aggravated a few people. 3. Service - depending on the day, the restaurant service, although very friendly, could be very off.

All in all, we had a great stay here and would definitely stay here again!
