“The Ultimate Relaxation....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

We stayed at lime tree farm for 4 days just after new year. Wow what a location!! We were picked up in Kingston and then drove up to lime tree which is an adventure in itself. Once we arrived we were taken aback by the sheer beauty of the mountain views. The air up there is so clean and often scented with the smell of freshly roasting coffee from lime tree's own organic plantation. Every day we ate fantastic freshly prepared homemade Jamaican dishes by Suzy and Keisha. As we are quite active types we went on two guided walking excursions, one 'short' walk to the “Governors bench” and the much more involved Blue mountain summit hike. Roger our hike guide and part owner of lime tree farm provided insightful historical commentary along the way and also provided many hours of amusing stories and anecdotes over dinner. One is the nicest aspects of staying here is that you can eat with everyone else and share stories over wonderful food and a few beers. Charlie and Roger have spent many years preparing lime tree farm to be what I can describe as one of the most relaxing places on earth. There are 3 different types of accommodation of high standard. If you are headed to Jamaica try to at least spend a couple of days at Lime tree to find the ultimate in peace and quiet away from the hullabaloo of Kingston and the normal beach locations....

“A most amazing stay in an amazing place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

I loved my 2.5 day stay there so much that I hardly know where to begin. My friend and I arrived in Kingston early in the morning and our driver was there to meet us. The drive up was beautiful and it does get a bit rough on the way up, thus the necessity of a 4x4. We were so surprised that a fabulous Jamaican breakfast awaited us. The meals just kept getting better and better - Kisha and Suzie are fabulous cooks and hostesses. Cabins do not do justice to the accommodations. They are individual haciendas consisting of a front porch with table set, large bedroom with additional seating and a bathroom. They are very nice and bed and linens were great. There is an outdoor patio with spectacular views of the mountains. The property is a small coffee plantation that you can walk through at your leisure. We really wanted to relax so we only took one hike but everyone is there to ensure that you do as little or as much as you'd like. The location is so beautiful - almost spiritual. I know it sounds hokey but I have travelled to 85+ countries and I just felt so happy there. Of course Charlie, Suzie, Roger, and others just make you feel like family. You really feel like you are their guests. This is a must stay for at least a couple of days even if your real destination is the beach or Kingston. It is well worth any detour to anywhere else in Jamaica - alone, couple or with family. I will be going back soon!

“Chicken Soup for the Soul”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2012

Completely agree with the other Reviews, this IS the place to stay in Jamaica. If you like peace, quiet, clean air, amazing views, bushwalks and fantastic company, then this is the place for you. The host Charlie was a lovely guy with a wealth of experience in Jamaica and clearly highly respected by the locals. His wife Suzie cooked some amazing Jamaican dishes and was great fun, while his business partner Roger took us on a great hike up to overlook Kingston. Had some other pretty ordinary experiences in Jamaica, but this stay definately made up for it. We ended up staying another night up there to escape the crazyness of Port Antonio. Thanks guys for a great experience and we look forward to meeting again.

Room Tip: Charlie gave us the bottom cottage and I think it is definitely the best of the 3 options.

“The place to stay in Jamaica”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 December 2011

When we once booked a room in Tobago, on a "Bannana Plantation" and there was only one banana tree in the very small 'garden', we are a bit sceptic since, so when we found a great real Coffee Farm/ Estate here, we were very happy : When you come to Jamaica and want to stay 2 - 4 days in the famous Bleu Mountains ( a must) far away from the mass tourism, in an unspoilt extreme welcoming place, we can only advice this one ! The food is more then excellent, Jamaican style, howe made, great and abundant, fresh fruit juices on top ! There are many things to do from there, excursions, walks etc. The receiving "family" are also very welcoming and with great knowledge on the area and history of Jamaica. The cottages are clean and there is everything you need, even a huge DVD collection, for those who can not sleep in the lovely 'sound of silence'. The views into the valleys around ( it is on top of a hill) are stunning, you can even see the sea at the extreme east point of Jamaica. It is an excellent place for Birding too. We did not meet Charlie, but his business partner Roger and Suzie, Charlie's wife are great ! A 'must do' when you are in Jamaica and do not forget to buy their 'home made' Blue Mountain coffee, grown on the farm, too!

Room Tip: All have a great view.

“A very good experience - views, good food, nice people”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 December 2011

We had a wonderful four night break at Lime Tree Farm. Everything lived up to its reputation - views, quiet, food, and particularly people. It is a perfect place to relax. Good walks, an excellent trip to Cinchona Gardens, and just sitting on the verandah reading and looking at the Blue Mountain Peak. All well worthwhile ... but next time I will listen to the advice and let them do the driving up the challenging road, it does need a high clearance 4WD.
