We need to warn you. My boyfriend and I bad made bad experience with this hotel with regards to billing and safety, We like to advice you to please ALWAYS check your Bill when dining at the hotel restaurant. More than 3 times we were way overcharged, of course I did my math and figured it out fast.


Secondly please be aware to lock all your personal belongings before you leave the hotel. We strongly advise you!!!!!! While dining at the hotel restaurant our cash and blackberry was stolen from our room. So far nothing has been replaced, no correspondence from the Hotel etc.

Would not recommend to stay at this hotel.

When dining it takes FOREVER until food is served.

My family which included two young adults, a seven year old, my husband and myself stayed at the RBH over the New Year weekend. We were pleasantly surprised about the cleanliness of the surroundings and hospitality of the staff. While it does not offer much in entertainment, the proximity to places of interests was great for us. We were less than 15 minutes away from Ocho Rios and therefore a quick trip would bring us in the heart of fun.
The breakfasts and lunches were great, although the dinners left much to desire. We were hoping to get some authentic Jamaican meals, but the dinner failed to provide that. On the other hand, the breakfast menu offered many choices - traditional Jamaican bfast as well as international choices.
Overall, it was an ok experience as we had plans for our entertainment away from the hotel. Some of the staff were very pleasant and helpful. I would revisit RBH.

I would like say a big thankyou to ALL the staff at heart hotel. The training they have recieved has allowed my stay to be pleasurable. The staff are full of smiles and willing to help from reception to the kitchen staff. Me and my two friends stayed here for a friends wedding. We had bed and breakfast and we had juice, water and tea which were all included plus a hot breakfast which changed daily. I must admit they need a bit more choice for vegetarians.
The hotel is a bit out in the sticks and up a hill but the view is to die for!
There is no entertainment per se, there is a pianoist (Kedroy) who plays in the lounge who is really good. I really enjoyed that because me and my friends sing so we would request a song and sing along with him, he is a very talented guy and we believe he will make iot big one day!
The rooms are clean enough and has the basics.
Over all i enjoyed my stay not for the hotel itself but the people and i would def return its value for money!

When I travel I like to experience the local flavor. My family is Jamaican but I haven't been back in 13 years. So this was a trip to explore my heritage. If you want the comforts of home whenever you travel, this isn't the hotel for you. But if you enjoy breaking free from an all inclusive this is the way to go.

Rent a car. Driving on the left isn't too bad now especially since they fixed many of the roads and installed traffic lights.

The Heart Hotel is about a mile away from a beautiful public beach FREE. They now have a FREE shuttle to the resident private beach, obtain your beach pass at the front desk. The hotel provides FREE beach towels too. Also if you need to change your money (I found paying in Jamaican was a lot cheaper than paying in U.S.) ask the shuttle driver to drop you at the nearby cambio. The meals at the hotel are good and pretty cheap. For 5 days and 2 people it was about $100 US total breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They have a gym on site but I jogged to the beach and back everyday. They have water aerobics at 5pm everyday. They have a pool, a mini fridge in each room, and a beautful view from your balcony. The rooms are decorated in bamboo, tropical feel. The service is very courteous with a relaxed vibe so don't expect quick service and the hotel is overall clean and the grounds are beautiful. This is a training school but for the price you can't be the pretty charming hotel and great staff.

If you are familiar with tropical climates and bugs and rented a car, you should have no problem staying here so close to Ocho Rios - Dunn's River and Dolphin Cave, St. Ann's Bay, and about an hour or so from the airport and Montego Bay.
