“Real jamaican experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 August 2011

Drapers San is a wonderful guesthouse.
We spent 7 nights, dinners and breakfast are delicious and our room was perfect!
Drapers is a little village in Portland parish, 10 minutes from Port Antonio and the guest house is perfectly located - close to the most beautiful jamaican beaches, especially Winnifred Beach, a public area where you can spend long hours together with the local people.
You can arrange many visits from Drapers San, you'll receive precious suggestions here and you'll be in contact with nice local people, they will take care of you!
We visited Port Antonio, Boston Bay, Long Bay, amazing Reach Falls and boat trip to Blue Lagoon, Monkey Island having some snorkelling.
We enjoyed funny evenings with the other guests, concerts and long walks in the area.
A special thanks to all the people we met in Drapers San - guests, owners, workers, friends - you made our vacation much more than a vacation - we hope to come back as soon as possible!
Unforgettable!!!

“over priced, go somewhere else”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 May 2011

for a tiny room with shared bathroom, this is over priced, the worst guest house we have stayed in Jamaica. Full of dogs and cats...Jamaica is a great place to visit, just don't visit Drapers San.

“Don't bother”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 May 2011

Tiny , small , cell block rooms. For the same rate at various places, we had huge rooms, or seperate chalets. Overpriced. Dogs maul you at the gate, cats come into you room.
On a busy main road. No access to gardens or beach. Breakfast was fine, and nice local girl serving us. Go to Long Bay and stay at the Jamaican Colours hotel and compare the difference.

“Basic, comfortable guesthouse”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 December 2009

I stayed here on 2 occasions while I was a student in Kingston. The rooms are comfortable and basic. It's really no frills. If you want a place where you'll be looked after, this is not it. If you want a place to lay your head at night that is comfortable and relatively safe, and insider travel advice from the well-informed owner, then it is great. The owner is often off doing things in the community, but when you can catch her she can give you great info on off-the-beaten path places to visit and how to get there.

“Dilipatated guest house lacking warmth”

Many of us have options as this area has no shortage of cute places to stay. There are a few things that does not keep drawing people back to this hotel - the owner can be stand-offish to certain guests and friendly to others. We went to the guest house because of the owner's profile on the internet - and Italian rasta lady. But she is definitely Euorpean and lacks the warmth of Jamaicans. The women who work in the kitchen are terrible cooks and you are far better eating at the local cook shops up the road. Dogs, there are three mangey dogs who bark and can be quite agressive - one main reason I will not be going back to that guest house. The cost is cheap but there are many other places in the area to stay which can be more comfortable.
