We arrived at the hotel late evening (thank God). We droved up the lonely road for about 20 minutes and noted that no other vehicle passed us on the way; this meant for us that the hotel would not be full and we would receive better service, however, when we finally got on the property we realized that there were no one there but us (later I would know why).
The landscape and the view were terrific. We went on into the reception area where the dining and bar were also located. The furniture in the dinning area seemed old and run down but looked clean. The dinning room is open and also offered a nice view of the coast. When we checked in, the receptionist required payment upfront (hmmm).
We paid and we were taken to our room by a lady. The room was big and spacious, but the furniture again looked old and dingy. She turned on the fan and then the air conditioning which started up like an old truck with engine problems. I asked her if the a/c would continue to make that noise and she said "no, it will get quiet after awhile". She handed me the remote for the television (which is broken by the way) and left. I surveyed the room and checked the sheets and the bathroom. The sheets were old, dingy and stained. The towels were also old and dingy (I was so happy we had taken our own). The pillows on the sofa were badly stained. The carpet was disgusting, it was so badly stained, and it needed to be thrown out. The drapes which did nothing to block the light out the room were mildew; then the mother of all disgusting things, a dead cockroach at the side of the coach. In order to sleep, we had to turn off the a/c and the fan so we could get some peace and quiet and use the towels given to cover a few of the windows that did not have curtains or drapes.
When we woke up in the morning, there was black debris on the floor under the A/C. We shower in the cold water (hardly any warm water though we were the only one there). The grout was mildew and black. We went down to the office and lodged our complaints and were told that our complaints would be passed to the manager. We stayed out all day and when we got back to the hotel, the room had not been cleaned and the roach was still resting in the corner. We were so exhausted from the day’s activities we went to bed happily looking forward to leaving the hotel first thing in the morning. We got up early, packed our things took the towels from the room and took it to the office where my partner complained bitterly about the poor service and lack of concern for the guest.
Other than the view and the landscape, there is nothing good about this hotel.
Despite the fact that we have emailed the manager, we have not received a response to this date.
