I was looking for a reasonably place for my mom and I and after reading reviews for several resorts, Merrils Beach Resort I had the most positive ones. Upon booking, I went through LLC group out of Miami and did everything via email. Valarie and Diana were great and accommodating. The receptionist at Merrils I was friendly so I knew we were going to have a great stay. The room faced the garden and we can see the dinning from our balcony. There was a full and twin size bed, television, clean bathroom, and deceit towels. The only complaint in regards to the room is that it took about five minutes for the water to heat up. The bartenders were great as well, I suggest asking Ryan and John for their signature drinks. Finally, the food was good up until the last day. My mom and I decided that we've had enough and went to a restaurant on the street. Also visit the other Merrils during lunch since their menus varied. Security was AWESOME, especially on the beach when you don't want to be asked by the locals if we want to purchase something. We will stay here again in the summer.

Just got back from Negril, stayed at Merrils 11 Great location and the price is great also. The Staff very friendly and courteous meals great, however they need to upgrade the drinks served no premium beers and also they need to extend bar hours a later, bar closed at 10 pm now not good. This is not a great place for kids nothing for them to do no babysitting service for kids. This resort has the right location, food was great overall our stay at Merrils was great, and I would go back and I do reccomend this resort to anyone. Big Up to Charlie at Merrils 1.
Not kid friendly but overall I give it a 7 out of 10 also the garden there is great, very good landscaping there, staff was great.

My husband and I spent our first wedding anniversary here. We checked in after leaving Khus Khus (read separate review) We had a tour and the same night we checked in. Loved the all-inclusive service as the food was well worth the money. They skimped a little on the drinks (used flavored fruit juices instead of the actual fruit.) Also for a resort this large, the rooms need serious upgrading.

The beds were kinda hard and the pillows were unbearably lumpy. It would really do the hotel chain good to upgrade their bed linens, towels, pillows and bathroom accessories. Mattress pads would also help. Other than that everything was fine.

The beach was FABULOUS with a perfect location and calm waves, but go to Merrils II as they have better beach chairs. We would recommend this resort to any one/any age. Everything's "Ok Mon in Jamaica!

I have been to lots of Hotels in Ja but at Merills 1 it was number 1 for me I enjoy ever minute of it, the room was clean the garden was well kept but most of all the Staff, in one word Excellent service special big up to John at the bar, Charley, Akeliah, Jodine, Shannon Love you all
