Even though we confirmed the week before......when we arrived, they informed us they had overbooked and didn't have a room for us, however they would put us up in a "very nice" overflow property. That property turned out to be a dive. Sent us to another property that was nicer but in a horrible location--we are not hard to please people but these were not satisfactory options. The office staff was rude and did all they could to pretend we were not standing there waiting for another option ( a refund). Were told they could not refund us, as we booked thru an agency and not them directly. Asked to use their phone to call the booking agency, were informed their phones did not call out. Used our personal phone to the tune of $90US to visit with our booking agency to get our money refunded. The gal behind the desk informed us within 2 minutes of speaking to our agency that she was refunding our cards but could not tell us how much. RUDE, RUDE, RUDE! Sent us down the road at night, suitcases in tow where we found a couple of LOVELY places to stay, so in the end it all worked out well (except for the phone bill and taxi tips to run us to the overflow properties).
I will mention that we stayed at Fun Holiday Beach last year and I was pretty generous in last year's review, mostly because I try to cut people slack most of the time but this experience was beyond cutting them some slack!
Good luck to you if you book with this property. My advice is to check out Hidden Paradise, Grand Pineapple or the rooms above and behind Shamrock Grocery......all wonderful experiences with them!
