“Great stay with no worries no problems. Want to go back!”
We were two families (total of 12) with children ranging from 7-17 that rented the beach house level 1 and 2. We were right on the beach so we had no worries when the kids wanted to go get breakfast or go swim in the fabulous warm and clear water while we had our coffee on the terrace. They made us feel like we were the only people there. The villas are basic but comfortable.
The staff at BHV were incredible! Tip them well! They called us all by names including our children.
Keion is the head of security and is truly 'the man". He helped us with everything and ANYTHING. I took pictures with him and our families because he truly became our friend.
Bull was fabulous and would set up our chairs on the beach for us everyday.
Nadine, Stacey, Georgia, Leroy were our amazing bar/restaurant staff! We would hang out and play cards at night and Leroy played Yahtzee and Bogle with our 7 year olds. If you wanted your drinks stronger (although they were strong enough for me) they would accomodate graciously. The food was good. I did find the food in Negril to be pricey no matter where we ate.
FOOD:
Bourbon Beach had the best and spiciest Jerk Chicken.
Kuyaba was good but really expensive.
Sweet Spice was good home cooking. Every kind of fish, beef, etc. We ordered the curried goat (cause the Jamaican's said it isn't a party if they don't serve curry goat). Didn't like it but had to try it. They do not serve alcohol.
Rick's Cafe is definitely a must visit for the cliff divers. I would recommend eating somewhere else. The cliff divers were amazing but got really testy with us because we didn't have our money out to pay them. They intentionally blocked us from watching one guy jump and said "that's because we didn't pay". I told him that my 7 year old daughter had a 20 in her hand to pay him but he blew it by not letting us watch.
Visited Y/S Falls which was gorgeous. It was a 1 1/2 drive but showed us the culture of Jamaica which we loved. The falls were beautiful with lush surroundings.
They vendors can be pushy and at night the ganja is flowing. You just have to say No Thank You and they leave you alone. The fruit lady is a must. She was our breakfast on the beach. Wonderful fresh mango, pineapple, papaya, avocado, sugar cane, etc.
