This was our first trip to Jamaica and definitely will not be our last! Our group was 8 people, all above the age of 16 and we all had an amazing time. In the past we have stayed at Atlantis in the Bahamas and that trip did not even compare to what Beaches Negril had to offer. The rooms were plenty big enough, as we were only in them to sleep since we were kept busy all day long. We had a chance to go to every restaurant besides Arizona, and we were pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. Our favorites were the Mill, since it was a buffet all day and it was great for breakfast and lunch. Also go to Kimonos as the atmosphere was great and the chefs were hilarious singing to each other and joking around. However make sure that you make reservations as soon as possible if you decide to go to Kimonos. We did not use the pools since they were geared more toward younger kids with the slides, but that was fine with us because the beach was unbelievable. It was like paradise and we never wanted to leave.
The best thing about Beaches Negril besides the magnificent beach, was the friendly people who not only worked there, but took time out of their day to get to know all of us. First the entertainment staff was amazing! Definitely get to know Jermaine, Omar, Okuson, Kenroy because they were all so friendly and fun to play volleyball with every morning. Oshane was our favorite, not just of the entertainment staff but of anyone there. From hanging out with us on the beach, to eating late night snacks, and meeting us for breakfast on his day off, he really made this trip memorable. He even made a CD for us to dance to on our last night. We continue to keep in touch with Oshane since he became one of our good friends there and we hope to see him whenever we come back! The only negative was that we met him so late in our trip:( If you are looking for a good drink on the beach, find Ned at the beach bar. He will always greet you with his trademark saying "What?! I don't believe it." At nights look for Jermaine at the bar at the Bigtop, he makes the best Jellyfish shots. Finally Damon and Deneisha took great care of us when we rented a hut for the day. We never had to leave the beach to get drinks or food because they were constantly checking on us. Kenardo will hook you up at watersports and always give you a good laugh if you talk to him. The watersports were great because we would just walk up and ask to kayak or banana boat and we would go right out. Finally if you are looking for some beautiful pictures on the beach at sunset, Collin is your guy. We met him the first night (Sunday) and he took our pictures, but we were still in our travel clothes, so he promised to take our pictures at sunset later in the trip. Whenever we saw him he always said hi to us and reminded us that he would see us on Thursday and when we went down to the beach that night he was there waiting for us. The pictures turned out great and we had a hard time narrowing them down because we loved them all.
All in all Beaches Negril was the perfect trip. There are some negative reviews about this place, but we have nothing negative to say. The friendly staff was what really made us want to come back because you just do not meet down to earth, great people like that every day and we look forward to returning soon!
