I stayed @ Devine Destiny in June 2006 for 2wks. It was a bi group of us who went 4 a wedding which was held @ the hotel...(they did do very well at making sure it went according o plan) Thanks!
The staff was pleasant an helpful i got a great deal i thought compared 2 those who had already booked but im thankful 4 that coz i would be rather upset if i had paid anymore.
My room was clean ...yes it had old furniture..but i sleep good..the fridge wz a bit rusty and had no AC but they came with 2 bedside fans so that was ok..the cleaners come in the morning and clean ..they are nice and the man who looks after the garden Veery helpful....YES..its a bit intimidating on yr way to the hotel...as it is off a road on a side road...with a dirt path leadin..1 an 2 shops a little mini mart thing......at the end .
i had a tv only could get a few channels thou ....the pool was clean my only complaints are really they provide food sometime yes sometime an the prices would chane daily for some reason so i decided to eat out an solved that problem........The bathroom was a bit dark and the shower an fixture dated an a bit rusty (i really did dislike the bathrooms) If u are looking for a quite relaxin no frils just b&b and a swim thats the place cheap an cheerfulish. Nice staff they had a mini bus driver SCOOBIE the man!! brings u anywhere an collect you 4 a small fee...to be honest not really bad but does need a REFURB the best thing going for this hotel is the POOL AREA an its staff!! 2 star hotel with pool an i think that water feature in the reception area attracts mosquitos!!! WAS BITEN 2 DEATH!!

The pictures that you see online to describe the hotel is nothing like when you go in person. First off the person that suppose to get you in your room had us waiting @ the front never even asked who we were. And told us to wait to make sure our room was all set. Came back and directed us to the room and gaved us instruction on how to lock the door because it was broken so we had to use the back door to exit. While going through the yard the pool had green water in it and the front desk person told us its under renovation. There was stray kitten all around and when getting into the room it was a disater. There was no tv, the dresser was beat up and the so call a/c was useless. I think they should of reimbursed us some of our money but they did not. So we just leafted and went to another hotel. I wont not recommend staying there unless its fixed up.

i stayed at the Devine Destiny from the 20 september to 11 October, Room only, the owner's who live on site was very helpful and friendly, orginally i was due to go into a upstairs room, but because of a wrist problem, i had ground floor room 1102, and breakfast was also given, i enjoyed by stay in the cliffs, the other people who live there, or on 3 month stays, were very friendly, and i felt more part of a community, then a tourist, fresh fuit on the trees, was shared, and beautiful gardens, i had read prior reviews and knew there was no hot water, but to be honest a luke warm shower was all i needed, room was cleaned, sheets changed, and clean towels, as the beach was a good distance, the owners took me to the beach, they also own chances resturant and bar on the beach, and if i went for a walk, they always made sure i was back safe, i was walking distance to the lighthouse, i made friends, i feel to many hotels in the hanover area of negril are to commerical, and this is a hiden gem in the cliffs, i no there are potholes in the road, but you get potholes everywere, even in england,

I did not stay at Devine Destiny. My fiance is Jamaican, and he lives there. Back in the day, it used to be a thriving Resort, right off the West End Road, but today, it is only a memory of its formal self. Locals reside here, because the rent is cheap, and they do not make tons of money so this is what they can afford.
It is clean, the property is beautiful. It is a quaint place to stay...a great value for the dollar.
You can easily get a cab to the beach, into town or up to the World's Famous Rick's Cafe.
It is great if you are going to Negril to party or just hang on the beach and chill. If you are looking for a resort, with fancy rooms and great beach views this is not for you.

I went to Jamaica during ATI/Dream weekend...That is Jamaican Independence Day, where they have 30 parties and concerts in a weekend. If you party like I do..and spend less time in the room and more time out partying.this is great for you.
