I went to TP on 12/10/11 - fourth trip there, and it only gets better each time. Really loved it and cant say enough about it. As far as I am concerned, this is the #1 resort IN THE WORLD, with a bullet.

This was my 4th trip to Tensing Pen- it literally takes my breath away every time I return. We stayed in the Long House with a few of our friends & it was a week full of much needed relaxation. We loved having a kitchen to store our snacks & red stripes in. If you like the all-inclusive style resorts, then Tensing Pen is not for you! If you want to relax in solitude then book a room now because you are feel like you might be the only people there even if it's at full capacity. The office staff cheerfully accommodated special requests like setting up a private dinner in the hammock hut (to accommodate our friend's marriage proposal) & a surprise birthday party with a cake. They seamlessly handled these events so that they remained a complete surprise. I loved having wifi throughout the resort so that I could Facetime with my toddler no matter where I was within the resort. I could go on & on about the amazing food, customer service, massages, & the mental health benefits of staying at Tensing Pen. We are already configuring dates to book another trip to Tensing Pen. Trust me when I say that it will change your life!

We stayed at Tensing Pen November 29-December 6, 2011. We loved our room very cozy with beautiful ocean views and a lovely porch to sit on, very inviting with the 4 poster bed. The gardens are fantastic and the views spectacular. We enjoyed swimming and snorkelling in the cove and enjoyed the spectacular sunsets every evening. The food was delicious, I still crave the delicious jerk chicken. Staff were very courteous and helpful. I plan on returning again in the future for another relaxing getaway in paradise!!!

My husband and I have been to Jamaica many times. Every time before we have stayed at an all inclusive, usually Couples Negril. We will never go all inclusive again. Tensing Pen is a small resort with only 22 rooms. I LOVED this about it. Everyone we met was very friendly but not so much as to be intrusive. The staff were all VERY nice and accomadating. Tracy from the front office even gave me her stand up fan for the week. We stayed in the Garden B. I have to say there was really nothing wrong with the room. We are used to a king size bed so the bed was a bit small but other than that the room was fine. The room also backs to the owner's cottage where the dogs live. If the sound of dogs barking annoys you you might want to choose another room. They don't bark all night or even very much but they do bark. We have already booked our next vacation and will be staying in the Rock Cottage II which has A/C (a must for us) and a king size bed. It also has a view of the ocean which the garden B doesn't. The food was overall just ok in my opinion. Breakfast was ALWAYS late except for the days the owner was there and it takes forever to get your meal. Expect to wait 30-45 minutes no matter breakfast, lunch or dinner. I had the pork tenderloin for dinner and it was very good. My husband enjoyed the lobster tail and jerk chicken. My favorite part of the vacation was swimming in the cove. It is truly paradise. We went swimming twice a day every day. The salt water is very easy to float in even without something to float on. It took me 3 days but I did finally get up the courage to jump off the bridge. You really need to try it at least once. It was great. We tried a few of the restaurants nearby. Ivan's is by far the best one. The mushroom chicken was yummy. I also liked the shrimp alfredo. I can't eat spicy food so most of my meals are not "Jamaican". They had plenty of "normal" food to eat and it was great every time. Do try the frozen chocolate cheesecake! My husband loves Jamaican food and said the jerk trio and the jerk lobster were both excellent. We were both dissapointed with lunch at Sharks. Tensing Pen really is the perfect place if you just want to relax and get away. There are no TVs but we brought a laptop and watched a movie every night. Shhhh, don't tell. :)
