“Old Jamaica is alive”

A friend of ours, who lives in Ocho Rios recommended these cottages and knowing her taste and penchant for quality we met her there for two nights - two fabulous nights. When you pull up to the property, you would NEVER imagine what is hidden behind the gated entrance. What is there is a charming small "colony" of wonderful little gingerbread cottages tucked away along a lovely small swath of garden along a cobblestone walkway that spills out onto the most gorgeous stretch of white sandy beach with crystal clear turquoise waters. The rooms are well kept and clean with all you need for a beach vacation and a nice bathroom to boot. The room we booked had a sofa bed with lovely throw pillows as well as a king size bed and lovely wrap around porch with brightly painted Adirondack chars and tables. Monique, the manager (?), could not have been nicer. She went out of her way to accommodate every request. This is not a Ritz Carlton or Four Seasons (thank God 'cause that is not what we were looking for) - but it is more boutique with personalized unobtrusive, competent service. Personally we loved every moment we were there. There is one small area that needs to be addressed - and that is the attitude of the chef of the small on property cafe - which by the way has a fabulous breakfast which was included in our rate - the omelets were extraordinary and the banana pancakes were to die for - best I have ever had in the Caribbean or anywhere. Lunch was very mediocre but that was because of the chef – not the server. I was assured that they are working with the staff to improve service. Once they succeed this will be the perfect little gem of a hideaway and it will stay booked. It is a very special place in Negril – low key and enchanting - and the rates are wonderful for this absolutely gorgeous little swath of paradise. A must try and we WILL go back!

Room Tip: Ask for a cottage room nearest the beach or on the second floor(some cottages have two levels).

MY husband and I have been to Jamaica over 30 times ,we have stayed at many resorts and have meet many great people over the years While visiting Coyaba in Montego Bay we saw written material on Country Country we then found out it was just bought by Coyaba loving the beach in Negril I decided to give it a try. All I can say its like going home its so charming and the people who keep this property filled with charm and beauty are why we keep returning. We have just returned for the 3rd time and will plan to return in 5 months . The saying once you go you will know is truly Country Country

Room Tip: reserve beach front rooms

“Cannot wait to go back!”

My husband and I stayed at Country Country this past July for our first big trip. The hotel grounds were lovely and well kept. Our little cottage was clean and welcoming. The staff made it so easy to relax, anything you wanted (parasailing, snorkeling, etc) they would happily set it up for you. The Country Peppa was fantastic too, if they did not have something on the menu that you are craving, just ask and they will happily tell you a restaurant that can satisfy your need or if you are lucky they will make it for you! Now, I see that people complained about lack of ac, we did our research before coming to Jamaica and new what to expect, although our room had ac. Air conditioning seems to be an added luxury at most hotels in the area. Even the $550 a night rooms at hotels on the cliffs do not have them. Sea breezes were enough for me most nights. We had no problems with the music from Margaritaville and our room backed up to it. I know that might not mean much to you but it did to me, I am a light sleeper. And as the taxi driver told us on the ride from the airport, don't let the vendors put anything on your arm unless you want to pay for it and if you don't want anything from the beach vendors politely and firmly say no. If you hesitate they will see a weakness in you and keep at it. If you keep this in mind you will have a fantastic time. We are already planning our next visit! I cannot wait to get back to Country Country!

“Great place to get away”

Great location, service and beach arena. Cottages are nice, bed is a bit hard as many have commented. Also the tree frogs or some critters can be really loud all night. Safe, friendly and very well kept, I would stay here again. We stayed at the cliffs for 3 nights and at cc for 2. Would recommend trying both on a trip to negril.
