We stayed for two weeks at country country and couldn't have picked a better place, the rooms were spacious and comfortable and ten steps from the beach! The restaurant was in such a lovely spot and was such an amazing place to start the day looking out over the turquoise sea. The breakfast was delicious, we had the banana pancakes most days but a couple of days opted for the Jamaican breakfast which was a spicy start to the day!

There was a patty shack a few steps down the beach that was great for lunch especially at $1 a pop!

The staff were lovely and friendly and very helpful.

The only thing I would say is to ignore the hotel staff when they say that you should use their taxi driver - he charges about four times as much as the local drivers. We only used him on our first night and learned our lesson! Also beware his restaurant recommendations, they were obviously just his friends places as we ate in much better and cheaper places that we found ourselves!

Country Country was exactly what we were looking for! It was a friendly atmosphere everyday - we knew everyone's names who worked there and everyone knew ours (and everyone else staying there too)!

The beach was right outside our cottage door and the restaurant was great - right on the beach. The menu changes every evening and was very tasty, so we enjoyed having dinner right on the beach.

There is a driver (Ernie!) available at the hotel that will drive you anywhere you like to go (good price and great guy)! We took an excursion with Ernie to the waterfalls and crocodile tour, and he took us to a great, authentic restaurant for lunch.

There was also a driver that took us to and from the airport for a reasonable price - very convenient!

There is also 24 hour security at the front gate and at the beach, so you can always feel safe.

One thing about Negril in general is that there are a lot of people trying to sell you things on the beach, but all you have to say is 'No thank you', and they will leave you alone. Also, the security guards at Country Country will keep them moving along in front of the property. However, I suggest buying a few things from the sellers at the beach, because there are always musicians that play music for a tip, fresh fish, boat tours, jet skis, jewelry, etc. etc. If you buy the fresh fish/lobster, the chefs at the restaurant at Country Country will cook it for you for a good tip (SO GOOD!!). I highly suggest it.

Anyway, in general we had an amazing stay and loved everyone at Country Country. It will not disappoint!

We stayed here on our honeymoon and it was the worst experience of our lives. In fact we tried to get a fligh back to america it was so bad. After a near death trip in a car that was arranged by country contry, with a driver that refused to give us our bags until we gave him a tip, we arrive in what looked like a nice well care for resort until we saw our room! It was very basic with just shutters on the windows and doors with no air con and by the late evening it was alive with mosquitos which seemed to love my blood and we were bitten all over. That night while my husband and I were looking forward to a nice meal and some relaxing time together the unbearable music from the Margerittavielle started up. There were also some very unsavoury people around who kept offering us drugs and would not take no for an answer. The security guard was no help. We were awake all night from the very loud noise and by the next morning we were furious that we had been miss lead into believing that the country country was such a peaceful and relaxing place. We complained to the manager but he did not care and just walked away. The effects of the loud music caused me to get very sick with migraines and the staff in the bar refused to give my husband any ice to help bring my tempeture down.
We contacted our travel agent back home and requested the first available flights back to america. Our honeymoon had been ruined and we left in a state of shock and I was so sick and devestated by what had happened.

Country Country is not for someone looking for a lavish, luxury vacation. The rooms are simple and clean. I loved the quiet, calm environment surrounded by the beautiful foliage. The staff is exellent and very attentive. The beaches are breath-taking. The only set back is the rooms only come as a one BED-room, no room for the kids if we return! If you want a rustic, native, experience Country Country is where you want to be! Monique and Sherlette rock! cant wait to come back.
