At first, we were very iffy about going to Jamaica.. But, I think it was probably the best decision I think I forced my husband to make! Anyways...so when we got to Montego Bay airport we had to go to Breezes lounge to wait for the bus. My first impression when I saw their lounge was not what I expected! It had old school furniture and dim lighting. Across on the other side was the Sandals guest lounge. When I saw their lounge my heart sank thinking that we had made a bad decision picking Breezes. BOY WAS I WRONG!!!!!!!!! So, at the airport Breeze's guest lounge we got picked up by there bus. It took about an 1 hr n half to get to the resort but the ride was worth it. The driver was nice enough to point out the every city/attraction as we passed it. We got dropped of and our luggage was taking out and as we were about to check in..we found out we were at the WRONG RESORT! LOL! We got out at Hedonism across the street from Breezes! lol Anyways, it wasn't a problem cuz they are sister hotels (I believe). The small cart transported our luggage to Breezes while we strolled across the street to our hotel. While checking in the girl gave us a glass of champagne :) Thn we were escorted to our room by a very nice girl that works at the desk name Samantha. She asked us if we wanted a tour of the resort but we were to tired and asked her for a map instead. While walking us to our room she explained where everything was and how to make reservations for the restaurants on the resort. When we got to our room out luggage was already there waiting for us. While we got situated Samantha called a few times making sure that we didn't need anything. Which was really nice!
Now a little about the rooms. IF YOUR LOOKING FOR THE MODERN LUXURIOUS FEEL TO YOUR HOTEL, THIS IS NOT THE HOTEL FOR YOU! The room we stayed at was a Junior Suite. The rooms are a bit outdated and old fashioned. But they are very CLEAN AND COZY! Our balcony opened up to the view of our beach which UHMAZING! The room has a very easy to use safe in the closet. The fridge is always stocked daily with cold beers,coke/diet coke, sprite and water. They have 34' flat screen tvs which was nice but we barely ever watched tv! The house keeping is very friendly and always stock the room with fresh towels and other stuff for the bathroom. In the reviews that I read prior to going there people said that the AC didn't work..But that was incorrect cuz ours worked amazingly!
Anyways, the first day we were just exploring the resort and the beach. We ate at the Reggae Cafe the first night. Which is one of the restaurants in the resort that you don't need to make a reservation for and is open till very late (which worked out for us cuz we like our mid-night snacks). The resort has 5 restaurants. Continental,Japanese,Italian,French, Jamaican and not to mention their daily buffets that serve breakfast, lunch and dinner! I'm not a picky eater but my husband is. We loved the food! My favorite restaurant was the French (which you have to make reservations for).
I'd just like to name the people who went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The top three bartenders on the resort and not in any particular order; Nickel, Dwight and Fitzroy. My husband loved these guys so much. They always remembered his favorite drink and would always whip up something special for him to try. We would spend a lot of our time at the bar and these guys always welcomed us with their great smile's.
Now, the beach and the amenities on and around it. The resorts beach is just beautiful! Pink sand clear waters! Just breath taking! The resort has lounge chairs which people go out early and reserve by putting their towels and flip flops on! So get there early if you want a nice spot! Also have yellow water beds that were my favorite! The scuba shop give you unlimited beach towels at all times! I think there are two bar near the beach but I didn't get a chance to go one the other side! The pool/hot tubs are okay..but who needs to go to the pool when you have such an amazing beach!
The scuba shop!
The guys there were great and so much fun! There are separate timings for each activity through out every day your there. All non motorized sports are free of charge! So my husband and I went snorkeling for the first time ever! We went 3 times throughout the trip! I was so much fun!! The resort has its own boat which take us to different reefs near the Bloody Bay. We also tried water skiing (also free of charge) Great experience!! The scuba guys were so nice and so patient! Sunjay and Vinton you're the best! We did kayaking one day but I couldn't stand my husband being so drunk and disoriented that we turned around in 5 mins lol! They have so many other activities to go such as tennis, yoga, rock painting and badminton. I know I am forgetting so many of them!
Resorts Entertainment and crew!
So now the resort has daily and nightly entertainment that goes on during the lunch and sometimes dinner! The entertainment crew is full of a bunch of young talented individuals managed by their manager Dean M. Which I got to know while requesting a song to the DJ! Ps the DJ is kick butt! :) Pauly D has nothing on Breezes Elvis! They all know how to sing beautifully and can dance like there is no other! Now the crew preforms and does fashion shows while you eat your food in the buffet area. They keep it interesting and upbeat. Not only that but they get the guest staying there to participate in these shows. While staying there I got to know a couple of them.. Dean of course which is the entertainment manager. He's the sweetest guy ever! And so good at what he does! Renea,Trish,Francois and Tina (I'm forgetting her name i think) are apart of the group and when they are not entertaining they are walking around greeting guest and making sure everyone is comfortable. We were just memorized by there voices when they got up on stage to sing! Love Love Loved them!
Things you will NEED!
At night there are a lot of mosquitoes! And the resort does have a nice gift shop inside but its about $26 for a $5 bottle!
Again very expensive at the resort since it is an island and everything gets imported in!
You do not need to bring your own aloe vera! House keeping keeps you stocked everyday with aloe along with other necessities which was great!
In summary, if your looking for a good time quality experience this is the place to go! The resort rooms are a bit outdated but you know what they say! DON'T JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER! The food, service, location and the beach are amazing! What else does one look for in a relaxing vacation? All excursions can be booked at the concierges. Even the guy that works there was so kind to us! And very helpful!
Bottom line I'd def go there again! Maybe to get married to my hubby again :)
