Centrally located to all the good stuff in Ocho Rios. Very safe unlike other nearby hotels. Very accommodating Staff and cleaning crew. Reasonable price for the location...as the name says...right on the beach. Sonia Davis - manager, and Kimberly Peterkin - assistant manager are great to work with. The hotel was 97% full yet we were treated like we were the only ones here.

this hotel is a haven for being robbed. my room and my neighbor's room were robbed the same night on december 19, 2011. the thieves took all our credit cards, driver's licenses, iphones and cash. miss davies, the manager of the hotel wasn't greatly concerned about our loss. her main concern was how were we going to pay for our rooms without cash or credit cards. we had to stay 2 extra days in this dump, waiting for over night credit cards to show up.

we had breakfast the morning after the robbery and were charged for breakfast.

here's the most interesting fact...miss davis, the manager of the hotel said she would be submitted an insurance claim for the loss. the hotel didn't lose anything. me, my buddy and my next door neighbors were the ones that lost items. FRAUDULENT CLAIM.

the front desk staff is rude and act as if they are doing you a favor when they help you. no sense of security at this hotel. doors that should be locked, were not. beach bums are friends with the security people and are permitted to enter the property without challenge.

AVOID THIS HOTEL

My first impression of the hotel was that it looked nice and clean on the outside. Then we tried to check in. The front desk staff were so clueless, backward, rude and just plain ignorant. One got the impression that they have 'arrived' to the esteemed status of front desk staff at a hotel and felt the need to be snobs. Really?! Understanding the culture and the people, I was amazed that the owners did not take a few $$ and time to properly train and educate their staff. Checking in took almost 40 MINUTES!....Then we saw the inside hallways and the rooms...OMG, nasty, nasty, nasty! Basic - which would have been ok if everything was not so old and dirty. They did not even have sheets to fit the double beds! Our feet were on nasty old rough mattress covers! Gross! The safes were 'locked' and we had to wait for maintenance to reprogram them...this never happened in the 3 nights we were there. Hmmmnnn

Apparently the ploy is to maintain the grounds and entrance, to get you to pay your money, then to hell with you after that.

It amazes me that the 'Manager' Sonia who is still being "shocked' after so many poor reviews (JUST HOW SLOW IS THIS WOMAN??), and was never there during our 4 days 3 nights stay of torture and disgusting stale food, no water for an entire day and night....has the gall to suggest that other persons were ever happy with facilities and services at this dump!

As a Jamaican, (yes, I am a fellow Jamaican who will tell you that this is most unusual for hotel staff on my beautiful island to behave so uncaringly towards guests.) it is very embarrassing to be associated with this kind of highway robbery and total disregard for decent service. Whether it is Butch Stewart or the Isa’s or whomever is collecting good money for this dump and poor service...shame on you for your lack of morals...I am sure that someone, at some point most have pointed out to you the disservice this dump is doing to the super clubs and Jamaican tourist industry name.

Clean up our act and represent better!!!

We stayed at this dump for a few days during our the Christmas holidays. It was suppose to be a nice family reunion. The staff were rude, the place was dirty, dilapidated and moldy. The sheets in the rooms are made of silk, material that was bought in the market Ocho Rios. The air conditioner was stuck on the coldest setting, the water was either hot or cold but never warm. One night we had no water at all.
The stairs leading to the rooms need painting, the cupboards and doors in the bathrooms also need changing. The outside of the property gives the impression that the place is well kept, but after you paid your fees (that takes more than an hour) its is a total nightmare. Don't forget the stale fruits and pastry that is served by the rude and unpleasant staff members.

Its a shame to know that this is advertised under superclubs and not that cheap and guest are allowed to be treated in this manner. We only stayed at this hut as a last minute choice and will never return. Its an embarrassment to the Jamaican tourism sector.
