Sky Castles is a condominium property that sits high on the mountain over-looking Ocho Rios. The property has changed management since I first went in 2006. Skycastles is a "sister" condo/villa of SUNFLOWER RESORTS, so be careful there as well. (Same management)
I have a dispute form in process as I write this. I had to cancel my card and have a new card reisued during the vacation.
DO NOT USE YOUR CREDIT CARD HERE AT ALL. Also, ask in advance if the pool is working. When we arrived they were painting our verandah and did not tell us the steps were wet. Pool was not working and our complaints fell on "deaf ears". 3 different charges were taken off my VISA statement for various unspecified amounts. The people in charge are part of the "fraud", as they disappeared when we asked for the charges to be refunded, to be put on a written slip.
The sink leaked and nobody came to fix it ever. Satellite TV is listed and that did not work either. Poor management,

My wife and I stayed there for one week. Fantastic view of the cruise ships coming in and out of Ochi. We walked up and down to town, down was fine, but up is a hike. Let them recommend a good taxi driver and keep his number handy or you'll overpay for the ride. When we arrived, our driver drove by the place because it was confusing with the Columbus Heights sign and just a small Skycastle sign,we finally found the office located under one of the upper pools. The first room was nice and big, but no hot water. They were kind and moved us, but not until the next day and a bit of persistence from my wife. The staff was friendly and helpful. It seemed like a great place for families because you are secluded way up on the mountain. We had a kitchen and a balcony on the second tier of condos. We visited several hotels like Sandcastles, ours was nicer but just not right on the beach. It is not a luxury condo, but it reminded me of the ones my family used to rent in New Smyrna Beach, Fl over the summer. It is quiet except maybe on Sunday night when you can hear the Fisherman's village crowds' music in the distance until about 3am, but that's part of the island charm. They have security guards on site and a vehicle gate at the front. The little on site convenience store was a lifesaver the first night because we arrived too late to go to the grocers. I would stay there again because of the beauty and quietness it offers. Just be prepared if you walk off property to be endlessly pestered for 1. a cab, 2.hair braiding/personal guides and 3. a party pack mon-in that order.

I just want to let you guys know that this place was really a blessing to me. I really enjoyed myself there. The resort is all condo types from studios to 3 BRs. Each area/building has a pool area and the grounds are well kept and were always clean. The villa was open and bright, had a full kitchen with all the items needed to make a meal if you wanted. The bathroom had two doors, which one lead to the hallway and the other to the bedroom which was great. The people were nice there as well. We did however have to request more towels which seemed like they did not want to give more than 2 a day. However after speaking with the maid and letting her know I bathed quite often and I washed my hair like after every swim, she complied and gave me enough towels and was very sweet about it (she was given a nice tip upon departing). Curry is SKy Castle's on site cook and he really cooks good... yummy and I love to eat JA food, so I was really pleased. The price was decent as well. You could leave the grounds and get if for a bit less but his food was well worth it. This resort is located on a hill so in order to get onto main st as the hotel is right there you do have to walk down a rather steep hill and going back up was even more difficult. The first day I thought I would have to check out because I was like" Im not going to make it" as I was up and down all day touring and ventering out but by the end of the second day I was so happy I was getting my little body in better shape. I am slim but slim has nothing to do with being in shape. Thanks to that hill my legs became tone by the time I left the trip. If you do not want to do all that walking you can take a cab up or down the hill. My friend did that a few times but I refussed, the walking became great to me. Once you make it down the hill the beach is right there along with so much to do. You can walk every where to great food, loads of shopping, the movies are right across the Street, etc. It's just great! I was there August 04, So yes I recommend Sky Castle it left me feeling quite the Queen. God bless and enjoy Jamaica and life!

We have just returned from two excellent weeks in August at Sky Castles. The accommodation is spacious,clean and in a superb location with panoramic views of Ochos Rios. Everthing was first rate. the cleanliness of the rooms (We have never had our sheets changed so many times). The grounds which are tended daily. Breakfast and the nightly poolside barbeque which gives you a true flavour of Jamaican food at very reasonable prices. All the staff were helpful and friendly and we would have no hesitation in recommending this property especially if you want to experience a true flavour of Jamaica.
