The hotel is well out of the busy downtown, and the tourist filled hip strip. It's a good choice if you are looking to do some stuff in and around Montego Bay, but probably not a good choice if you want to eat at Margaritaville and hang out on the hip strip all the time. I didn't eat at the restaurant, but there was a cook there and he did offer his services. The staff was very nice. The security guard was also extremely nice a tried to see to it that we had a good time. Most of the locals in the area gave us the impression that it wasn't a big tourist destination, but rather a spot where people from the island stayed. The place is clean but it isn't spotless. Your TV may or may not come in clear. The pool may or may not be 100% clean. Many pictures you may find on the internet do not depict the condition the hotel is in now. Bottom line.....it's great if you aren't trying to be in or around the hotel all day, but if you are looking for luxury or anything resembling it, stay elsewhere

The hotel shows pictures of when it was in its hey day. However, the rooms smell of mold and dirty mop water. The a/c units do not work and some rooms have no television at all. The floors are dirty and one of the managers "Roy" is particularly agressive.

One guest told me that the food was overpriced as he saw them actually pick a "breadfruit" for breakfast and charged him an exhorbitant price. Beware!
