A recent review mentioned how deceptive the hotel looked from the outside...couldn't be more true. The common areas: front of the hotel, above the parking lot is a nice and comfortable open-air sitting area with a view of the ocean, and rear is an area outside the restaurant near the pool. Again, a nice area. The pool is not that great and I didn't see anyone in it during my stay. And my room: the bathroom was new and modern looking (with a good hot water supply), the beds were clean, and the AC worked well.
The restaurant offers a free continental or Jamaican breakfast. I opted for the traditional continental (eggs, toast, bacon, and coffee) that was surprisingly good. I also have had dinner here, also a pretty good meal and the price was decent. The evening waitress, Stacy, was extremely polite and attendant.
Although I would return, there are a couple of negatives that must be avoided: First, third floor rooms in the building (311,312,313) have no windows to the outside world, and they back up to the meeting area, which can be very loud. Kind of feels like a jail cell (at least jail cells have a desk or area to put your stuff...none here). And then there is the parking...very small lot and it fills up quick.
Overall, a good experience. When I return, I will stay here. Although, only if I can get a room with a window and some sort of desk.
