An inexpensive, quiet, clean and comfortable hotel in the heart of Kingston in close proximity to the mall, the clubs, places of interest and food (TGIF is one block away).
The foyer was a short trip into the culture of Jamaica with its display of national artifacts. The front desk personnel was very pleasant, accommodating and professional *my apologies can not remember the young mans name*. The dining room was beautifully decorated and quite cozy but we ordered room service. The continental breakfast was timely, hot, tasty, nutritious and inexpensive. The room was very clean with a king size bed and space to move around. The bathroom is clean and supplied with fresh towels and soap however the hot water faucet supplied luke warm water in the shower so taking a shower was a bit of a hassle.
We left the hotel and forgot to tell the front desk personnel that we did not want any maid service because there were three suitcases filled with personal items and gifts including laptops and digital camera left in the room. Upon returning from exploring the city the room was thoroughly cleaned (bed remade with our personal sheets, fresh towels and replaced soap) with everything accounted for. Thank you for your honesty which is a true reflection of respect for your guest.
Recommendations:Security security security - The entry gate was left opened and unattended, the front door to the hotel was unlocked and there were no front desk personnel when we left to explore the city, Due to the location of the hotel (in the heart of Kingston right off of the main road) tighter security is needed, at least first line of defense in security is visible personnel and locked gates and doors. We just drove our car onto the compound and walked thru the unlocked front doors. Please take into consideration your guests feelings concerning a sense of security in an island which has been touted as unsafe or dangerous.
Commendations...the hotel has many plaques displayed thanking it for being a part of charity service in Jamaica. Cudos to you and your staff.
