“Ok, but NOISY !!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

Stayed here for a week, and was plagued by car alarms going off in the next door (Wyndham Hotel) car park day and night. Ear plugs helped, but thats hardly the answer, and a tad dangerous if the fire alarm went off. I was on the 3rd floor (pool side) and the builders were refurbishing the 2nd floor rooms all day, from around 7am.

When enough was enough I complained long and hard, and was moved to the 10th floor, on the opposite side of the hotel. Bliss, so a bit up to the management for removing the problem.

The pool bar was good, free wi-fi around the hotel, and generally a nice place to stay, not 5*, but nor is it claiming to be.

Room Tip: Go for one on the Wyndham side, if possible, and as HIGH as you can get |!

“Great food & friendly staff in central hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

I spent 5 days in the Courtleigh in early January and would recommend this hotel to visitors to Kingston.
The highlights are the staff and the food. The local staff are very pleasant and polite, while the food (breakfast, lunch or dinner) is excellent.
Although the hotel is a little dated (the 2nd floor was undergong renovations during my visit) the rooms are comfortable, but a little basic while the bathrooms are more luxurious than expected.
All in all this centrally located hotel would be a good choice when visiting this vibrant city for business or pleasure.

Room Tip: Avoid a room facing Knutsford Boulevard as it is very noisy at night (cars + amusement centre)

“A genuine pleasure with a few drawbacks...”

Loved this small cosy place with its brilliant restaurant and lovely staff and comfy rooms BUT. The doors do not lock well and have to be SLAMMED shut. The hallways echo very loudly and are NOISY at nite. And if the Pegasus next door or the Wyndam is having a party - forget sleep. Ditto on lower floors above the pool. BUT the staff are wonderful and helpful and do have the a la carte breakfast menu - the ackee and saltfish with fried dumplings are to die for as is the liver and onions ( yes for BREAKFAST). Do not miss the peas soup - gungo or red peas, pumpkin soup nor the smoked marlin salad OR the jerked pork ravioli at Alexander's onsite.

Room Tip: Higher Floors are better - ask for Palisadoes view and avoid the Pegasus/Wyndham side like the plagu...

“Not worth the money!”

Paying $270 just for a night for this hotel is definitely NOT worth the money! Hotel looks old and not comforting... and staff at the front desk wasn't too friendly at all! I will definitely NOT come back..

Room Tip: Balcony view is OK.

“A very good, comfortable hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 December 2011

My wife and I have used this hotel on four separate occasions for periods of up to 2 weeks during recent years. Service is courteous and friendly, in fact the hotel is staffed by particularly nice, welcoming people. The rooms have been comfortable, clean and well equipped on each occasion. It is worth booking a room with a balcony on one of the higher floors, particularly a Mountain View room.

Parking is convenient and secure. The Courtleigh is secure, feels relaxed and safe and meets the needs of visitors to Kingston very well. We will certainly stay there on any future visits to Kingston. Overall a very good hotel which delivers what it promises.
