We enjoyed a family holiday at Silver Sands and chose Tia Maria as it seemed to represent good value for money.
We prefer to travel independently and so opted to drive ourselves to the resort in our rental vehicle. The journey was very straight forward and Silver Sands well sign posted from the main road.
Upon arrival at the property we were greeted by Elaine and Nadine who look after the house, they were both very warm and welcoming and completely put us at ease. Our welcome meal was ready and being kept warm in the oven and the dining table was already set for our meal. All that was left was for us to bring in our cases, wash our hands and sit down to eat. A perfect start to our holiday !
Having the car meant that we were able to pop into Duncans (a few mins drive) to purchase additional groceries at our leisure, if we did not fancy the drive a short stroll down the road and we could purchase items from the Silver Sands Villa Mart which was really well stocked and reasonably priced.
We also went to Fishermans beach on a couple of occasions and bought fresh fish from the local fishermen which Elaine was only too happy to cook for us.
As I walked around the resort I felt very comfortable and safe, it is well maintained and everyone you meet along the road has a cheery hello.
Tia Maria is an older villa but it is well looked after and Nadine worked hard to ensure that it was kept clean and tidy, we were all very comfortable there. Mr. Malcolm is the groundsman and also worked hard to ensure that the grounds were well maintained, they were in immaculate condition.
There isn't much available by way of entertainment in the communal areas, I only saw a table tennis table, however I noted that some water sports equipment is available for hire if this is your thing.
All in all, Silver Sands offered a wonderful, peaceful and relaxing holiday for the family in beautiful surroundings. We are already planning to book again for next year !

My girlfriends and I stayed at Azure Cove in celebration of my birthday. The house was fabulous and beautifully decorated. The sea views were spectacular. Each morning we enjoyed a dip in the pool and relaxed in the Jacuzzi. Carol and Hedda took care of our every need. We had a private message on the veranda with the tropical breeze of the sea. The beach was just a short walk from the house. Everyday we enjoyed a delicious lunch prepared by Chef Morgan at the beach grill. His dishes were so scrumptious; we couldn’t help but make a repeat visit each day. I have traveled all over the world but this was truly one of my most relaxing and memorable vacations.


Maryland, US

My husband and I stayed at Kamarr Villa for a week in early November and had a great, relaxing vacation. The villa was renovated last year and it is lovely. We spent most of our time on the patio enjoying the amazing view. The pool is very nice and the entire property is very private surrounded with trees, flowers and bushes . Our meals prepared by Thelma were delicious especially the fresh lobster that we purchased from John Wesley the local fisherman. Another Thelma took care of the villa and kept everything tidy and clean.
Booking the villa was very easy on the mysilversands website. Their description and photos of the villas truly represent what you can expect on your vacation. A van with driver and rep were waiting for us when our flight arrived and there was a cold Red Stripe on hand for my husband and a Ting for me. Our 45 minute ride to the villa was enjoyable as usual and we were quickly delivered to Kamarr and welcomed by Thelma.
After checking everything out we made our way to the beach using the public footpath. It only took about 1 minute and we were in the water. I'm amazed every time by the warm clear water, the sand that is like icing sugar and the lack of wall to wall people. For those who like to stay on the beach there are plenty of loungers and a bar, a restaurant and a convenience store right there.
The weather was great even though November is still hurricane season. It rained twice overnight but otherwise it was mostly sunny and about 80 degrees. One day we got to watch the Oasis of the Seas make it's way to the new dock in Falmouth which is a short distance from Silver Sands.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Silver Sands and can't wait to return in February for our annual winter vacation with a group of family and friends.

We were lucky enough to stay at Santa Margherita for a week for a family wedding. After visiting family and friends in other villas during the week, we decided S.M is THE BEST villa in Silver Sands. By far it has the best views, location, pool, and of course staff. This villa sits at the end of the road so you have no neighbors on one side. It also offers steps down to it's own private beach area (a little rocky but perfect for privacy). This will be the villa we ask for anytime we vacation in Ja!
