We spent two weeks in Labadie in Feb 2006. This was our first trip to a 3rd world country and did not know what to expect.

Being the only ones in the guest house during our stay, we were able to enjoy our quiet time away. The noise went on long into the night therefore we found it difficult to sleep. However, with the use of the air conditioner, the noise was muffled enabling us to get to sleep. As a couple, the accommodations were tight because of our luggage. The hospitality and food provided by Father John and everyone in Labadie was amazing. Compared to the “normal” living conditions, this was a 5 star motel.

The entire experience was very memorable and more than we expected for a 3rd world experience. We have made a commitment to return – God willing, soon!!

I had spent two weeks in Labadie in Feb/Mar of 2005. This was my third trip there to do some missionary work in Labadie. The guest house is perfect to escape the madness of North America. I could really enjoy my alone time as well as spend a lot of time with the people of Labadie. The hospitality from Jo and John and all of the boys was beyond compare. I have never tasted food so good in all my life. Jo is an amazing chef. His loving extra touches make it that much more wonderful.John and Jo made us all feel welcome, this was my other home. Labadie and the people are very addicting, one trip and your hooked. I will be back soon. I miss you all.

Labadie is only accessible by boat, so having a great place to stay that is safe and comfortable is a must!

Labadie Guest House of Hearts Together for Haiti is just that.

Fr John, your host, will provide airport pick up and help you will all you want to do, be it volunteer work, or R&R.

Food is great, beds (bunk for lone travellers, a double for couples) are comfy and very clean.
