“A rather new but very good hotel ...”

We stayed there for 2 nights because the Hotel Roi Christophe was fully booked and we didn’t regret it.
It’s a rather new hotel, nicely furnished and it has a real charm. Most rooms are facing the sea. Though most of Haitian buildings are fenced, the hotel is not and we felt very secure during our stay there.
The rooms are large, clean, have a silent air con and a large bathroom.
It's a very calm place and you are not disturbed at all by any noise coming from the street.
Breakfast was served on the terrace facing the sea. We had the choice between lots of different combinations, tasting all as good as they were sounding. Service is quick and perfect.
Dinner here is excellent too. The menu card lists dishes that differ from the menu cards at the other hotels. So if you want an excellent dinner served in a very stylish way, this is the place to go.
If you don’t want to have dinner there, the open-air restaurant “Lakay” is just a few steps away. There is a little supermarket a few steps away too.

“Comfortable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 September 2011

The room was comfortable and we slept very well. Toilet was not clean when we arrived but on the following day it was cleaned. Water pressure was decent. Restaurant food was good but availability of food and drink was limited which was a little disappointing. I wondered if it is a sign that they only offer fresh food and availability depends on market, or it is just laziness.

“EXCELLENT SERVICE!!!!!”

We stayed at Auberge for a little more than a week!! We were vey impressed!!! My husband contacted the hotel to inquire about pricing and availablity and was immediately impressed with the staff. He spoke with a kind gentlemanby the name of Frank. Frank was very informative and congenial. Mr. Frank took his time to explain in detail the hotle amenities and check in procedures. At first my husband was reluctant for us to travel to haiti by ourselves but after speaking with Frank, He was very comfortable with the hotel. Dominique was also a gem Dominique followed up with an email to confirm our reservation and and a subsequent phone cal from Frank to insure that we recieved the information. These are things that we take for granted in the states and more than frequent even the hotels here in the states drop the ball. Honestly we thought that it would be difficult situaion at its best with a hotel in Haiti, but we were plesantly mistaken. The Hotel was Clean, The Food was awesome, The Staff was very kind and helpful, and Safety was a non issue as Hotel security was tight. We would definately return and stay again. The restaurant is the BEST IN TOWN,the wait staff were very nice and pleasant. WE RECOMMEND AUBERGE AU PICOLET!!!! If Haiti Had a 5 star rating, Auberge would be rated 6 star in my book!!! Thank very much FRANK and the whole Auberge au Picolet staff!! You would be doing yoursel a disservice not to stay at this hotel if your traveling to Cap Haitian!!! MERCI POUR VOTRE SERVICES. ONT SE REVERRA BIENTOT!!!

We stayed here as everywhere else in Cap was fully booked. So glad we did! It is quiet and peaceful, right on the water. Everyone was helpful and friendly and helped arrange transport to Citadelle and the beach. The rooms were large and comfortable and the food was fantastic!

Have been to Haiti for past twelve years. Found Auberge 4 years ago; what a difference it has made to have a peaceful clean refuge. I was offered a different location this past year but Auberge is my preferred choice and we change plans to get this hotel.
