We never had hot water the 6 days we were there. My colleagues had rats in their room. People could look into my bathroom because there were 2 pieces of opque glass missing. The internet hardly ever worked and the TV reception was so bad I don't know why they bothered to put a TV in the room.

I've stayed at several hotels in the Cap Haitian area. The staff and management are nice people and try to be helpful. For example, the screens in my room had large holes in them. Eventually, someone replaced the screens. The rooms themselves are comfortable but very basic. The food is good. The loction is in the city itself, and there is a security guard. Like most Haitian security guards, has a tendency to nod off at night, though. A conference/game room hsa been constructed. There is a pool. Televisions in the rooms don't work very well. Bring earplugs as the neighborhood can be noisy (chickens, church choirs, etc.) There is wi-fi in the restaurant. Whether I would reccomend this hotel depends on what is available in Cap Haitian - there are better options in the city itself, and if you want to stay someplace really interesting, there are hotels beyond Labadee Beach. You would have to take a water taxi, but for 20 dollars a night, you can stay in a very interesting place with great hospitality. Only catch is that it would make getting in and out of Cap each day time consuming as the road to Labadee is not paved. I stayed at the hotel for one and a half weeks. The place is dirty, the owners could care less about the guests except to try to get as much money out them as possible, the in room tvs don't work, the bathrooms are gross, the air conditioners may or may not work, the rooms haven't been painted in a long, long time . The staff were very freindly except that the owners were always harping on them in front of the guests. I would definitly recommend a diferent hotel. My guess your could find a lot better hotel for the same price.

The Hotel Roi Christophe is a nice place to stay in Cap Haitien. It has an old world charm about it. The rooms are spacious, the showers hot and the food is delicious. There are beautiful verandas and wireless internet connection. The hotel is within walking distance of the pier where you can buy locally made Haitian souveniers. The hotel also has a pool.
