“Enjoyable Stay”

I stayed at the guesthouse the 2nd week of August. I had no problems leaving the aiport upon arrival, and Veniel the manager made sure I got to the airport on time for my departure. The staff that were friendly , and security is always there to protect the guest. One thing I will miss for sure is that delicous coffee that I never tasted before! :)

“Home away from home.”

I've stayed at Walls many times over the past 5 years. It is a wonderful place to stay in Port, easy on the budget, the food is excellent, and the staff is wonderful and accommodating. I hope you check it out. Don't forget your swim suit for the pool. It is the best guest house in Port that I've stayed at (I've been in two others). It is like home away from home.

“I love the safety and simplicity of Walls”

I have actually stayed at Walls Guest House twice - once during my first trip to Haiti which was back in 1995 and again for a week in June, 2004. If you are single and traveling to Haiti alone, are on a budget, and are worried about security, Walls is a good choice for you. I stayed there alone in 2004 and would do it again. However, Walls is primarily used by mission groups as a stopping off point before leaving Port au Prince and traveling to other parts of Haiti or as a base for groups staying in PAP. It is very basic, although clean. There is a generator so there is always electricity. Accomodations are shared rooms, although depending on the number of people coming to Haiti at the time, you may have a room to yourself as I did. There are usually several twin beds in each room. Most rooms have fans only. The cost for one of these rooms is $25 per night which also includes breakfast and dinner. Rooms with AC are available for a cost of $35. The food is simple but very good. For breakfast, there are various fruits laid out buffet style - usually pineapple, banannas, mangos, papaya, oranges, etc. and eggs or french toast is available. I only had the dinner once but it was delicious - rice and beans and bread. There is always cold Culligan water available with glasses so you can get water whenever you want. There is a small swimming pool. There is a nice balcony overlooking the street which has rocking chairs and wonderful breezes. The bathrooms are not in the rooms and are shared. There is a small craft shop and the money goes to the guest house. Security is always a concern in PAP and I felt totally safe there. I would highly recommend this place!!! I have fond memories of staying there.
