Firstly, all reviews in this town pre-earthquake January may not be reflective of actual present realities. La Villa Creole suffered damage and is functioning makeshift with major demolition and rebuilding underway. But other than workers and equipment onsite and construction noise (sometimes loud), you mightn't know it. Hotel is located in Petionville, a several hundred meter easy walk to a principal street, not that there's much to see or do there, only that necessities are available and within reach. Superior room 603 was comfortable and spacious, although not new has been kept up. Bathroom adequate with good hot water. View from window was of trees and greenery, minimal street sounds although air conditioner was old and noisy. Good cable internet, basic TV channels, safe but no minibar. This is one of the best Hotels in Port-au-Prince environs. Facility is spacious and rambling with a lot of tropical ambiance. Nice pool, but unfortunate layout has restaurant functioning in same space as loungeing and swimming area. Breakfast was kind of mediocre. Price was $155 per night. Villa Creole is perfectly ok choice if you want to be in Petionville. Driver to airport asked for $40, but accepted $30 when bargained.
