We stayed one night, booked here because the usual properties in Petionville (Montana, Creole, Kinam, El Rancho) were full due to an international meeting. I was apprehensive because there had been a well-publicized recent increase in PaP kidnappings and carjackings, and the Pacot neighborhood (closer to downtown than Petionville) was an unknown to me. Furthenore, I had never heard of the Prince, and there is virtually nothing to be found about it on the Web.
As it turns out, this area of Pacot was pretty mellow and the security seems good. A fair number of NGO offices (MSF, UNICEF) and embassies are nearby. The staff was very helpful and friendly, and most spoke excellent English.
The compound is quite small compared to the Petionville properties or Ollofson. There is a pool (we didn't use it) and a restaurant which served OK to good food, but at unreasonably expensive prices. I did not explore the neighborhood for alternatives, given recent events in the city.
The building is an old Victorian mansion "with character", tired but not yet crumbling, and the rooms were musty but clean. It is better taken-care of than the Oloffson had been when I was last there. Some, but not all, rooms have a great view of the Bay of PaP from their balconies. My room was huge, although somewhat dark. I had hot water and my AC worked great all night, although the AC failed in a companion's room. (The staff was very accomodating about moving her).
It was also cheaper than Montana and Villa Creole. Safe, cool, and clean outside of Petionville.... Not bad for a PaP hotel! I will stay here again when I have business downtown or in Bourdon. (note: it was about a 10 minute drive from central Petionville on a quiet Sunday afternoon and 15-20 minutes on a busy late Monday morning).
