“Ibo Lele so, so..............”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 July 2011

The only thing nice I found at Ibo Lele was the view of Port au Prince from the terrace. The room I've got was not really clean and the furniture in poor condition. It was very noisy especially around 2 or 3 in the morning when revelers leave the place during the week end. The food is quite expensive for what they serve. I tried different meals during my one week stay and there is only one acceptable, the poulet creole. I wouldn't be too excited to go there again........

“Isolated, not clean”

Ibolele is one of the few hotels people can stay in Port-au-Prince. So being very condescenting, the hotel is a place to stay. The safety feeling is due to the hotel location: isolated on the top of the mountain in Petionville. To go anywhere in the city takes over an hour. The hotel lacks managemenmt and hospitality expetise. The staff are not trained, so the services are inconsistent. Rooms are left uncleaned, or sub-standard. Wait staff are friendly, but stay more time among thenselves then serving tables. The restaurant is less then passable. The overly priced menu is basic, with the same foood being served differnty according to the day's cook. The hotel has a night club with loud music. TIP. have the beer at the night club. is cheaper than at the restaurant. The pool likes OK, I just did not have time for it. We asked the front desk to call a taxi or any kind o f transportation, and they said thre is none!

“The best hotel with the best view in haiti.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 June 2011 via mobile

I spent the best time while I was staying at the hotel ibo lele.it has an amazing swimming pool with the view of the capital.its the only hotel in the capital were you can be entertained whitout having to go somewhere else in this insecure country. They have the best sports bar in capital were u can watch any sports events that you desire. At night time I am able to invite all my co-workers to come in have a good time in a safe envirement. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who comes to haiti for buisness or vacation.

“Filthy and isolated”

The hotel is located high above the city. It is great if you don't need to go into "town". To get to the airport and town expect a minimum 1 to1 1/2 hour trip. Also there is only one choice for meals, the hotel itself, unless you have reliable transportation. My room as dingy and shabbily furnished. It was literally covered in mold. I've never seen anything like it. The shower waste water ran out from beneath the shower enclosure and flooded the floor. The door leading to the balcony was only "secured" by a door lock normally used for interior house doors. I had to prop the luggage against the door as a make-shift barricade. The door frame itself was rotted and there was a 2inch opening at the bottom. The cherry on top of it all was rodents of some kind were living under the shower enclosure. I slept with the light on the both days I was there. The room was unsafe. Unfortunately Port-Au-Prince is a seller's market due to the earthquake and the vast numbers of aid workers, U.N. reps, and various government employees. Before I arrived I was told it was this hotel or a tent.

“Safe Beautiful Retreat in Port au Prince”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 June 2010

My company set up shop at this hotel after the devastating earthquake in January of 2010. Needless to say, there was a great deal of destruction all around Haiti, and it was helpful for us to have this place, a retreat, to return to at nights. The first few days after the earthqukae supplies and food were scarce throughout the country, the hotel did all they could to provide us with good meals. As things began to normalize there were more options at the restaurant and bar. Despite everything going on in the country, the hotel tried to treat their guests very well. Service was always friendly, the rooms were cleaned well, and the view from the pool area is magnificient. This place should shine and hopefully come back strong after such a tragedy. Overall this hotel is comfortable, beautiful, and safe.
