“Good, I'd go back”

Wahoo Bay was a nice place to stay in Haiti. If you have been to Haiti before you know that they don't have electricity all the time, however the hotel has a generator so most of the time you have electricity and water. They do have a period of time where they let it shut off around 10am - 3pm, but it was ok because that was when we were out of our room for the most part. It was nice to come back to air conditioning in the evening. The staff was very friendly and accomodating, and the food was great. We love Haiti and I am sure we will be back to stay at this hotel again some time!

  • Liked — Nice location and air conditioning
  • Disliked — Electircity not always on
  • Tips/Secrets — Really hot here, if you have health issures think twice
  • Stayed September 2006, travelled as a couple

“hotel has potential”

This is a nice little family owned resort that could be so much more.
Went there last year for new years 2004, I must admit it was during a difficult time. But for 200US a night I think they could have done more for their customers. I called in advance and made reservations; once we got to the resort the staff had no clue of it and refused to give us rooms even if there were a lot of rooms available. If it wasn’t for one of my friends who knew the kids owners, we probably wouldn’t have been able to get one. Other than that the food was good but they could have had the washrooms and bedroom a bit cleaner. My only real problem with the hotel was the administration. And customer service which is key in the resort business.

“A Touch of Home”

Wahoo Bay is a touch of home in a land that is not-at-all like home, for most coming from America. The staff is accommodating. There are reasonable prices. Amenities have improved each year I have been there for the last decade. The beach is beautiful and refreshing. It is a great retreat for Christian teams before, during, or after their missions in Haiti.

Wasn't bad, but I did see some rats. Other than that it was ok.

“Wonderful Resort”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 October 2003

I stayed at this resort in 96 it was wonderful. As americans you are given the royal treatment. It was wonderful. I am one that likes to drink. I spent the entire day here. I ordered drinks all day long and they kept them coming. I even had them delivered to me on the beach. I love it... you can swim out to this dock they have in the ocean an its a cool place to chill and check out the people back on shore. I met the owner and he was very nice. When you are spending american dollars they go along way. Not sure what I paid to get in. But when your in haiti and your american dont worry. Your american dollar is like 39 - 1. I basically went resort to resort and I recommend going to club med while your there which has nice rooms and they lay tables and tables of food.
Oh and they have aircondition in the rooms at club med also. It was so fun. I can't wait to go back. As far as Wahoo beach is concerned I loved the bar and I loved drinking there. Cool - a must stop at place while in haiti. (only wish I was able to meet other wealthy hatian- french people).
