“Simplicity, comfort and genuine hospitality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

I give top marks to Jenny's Place. When I chanced on this gem I had read no reviews. My husband and I asked a local gentleman to recommend a comfortable facility near the beach. He recommended Jenny's Place and said the restaurant was also one of the best on the island.

We were not in any way disappointed. The management and staff were all very welcoming and helpful and went out of their way to make our stay memorable.

The rooms were bright clean and well maintained. The grounds were attractive and well kept. We
found that Jenny's Place had everything we had hoped for and more. The cost of our vacation was
very reasonable and excellent value.

We are very pleased to recommend Jenny's Place to anyone wanting a comfort, hospitality and a good Caribbean experience.

“Down to earth and acessible....”

This was a really good experience for me and my partner. My family is from Grenada and I usually spend the entire time with relatives. I was a bit hesitant to stay in a hotel and worried about what the experience would be like. Jenny's Place was wonderful: down to earth, very clean, comfortable, great service. The manager (Ann) is professional and genuine. She took the time to get to know us, was warm and eager to help. She clearly knows what she's doing and people seem to respect her for this. This is definitely a place to stay if you are looking for a place that honours the integrity of the country, culture and environment while offering guests a relaxing experience!

If you are looking for different things to do around the area - the location is really good- all you need to do is walk down the beach - literally - and it's all there.

“Wonderful and Good Value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 November 2011

I was recently in Grenada and was fortunate to be recommended locally to stay at Jenny's Place. I had stayed with relatives for the first few days of my stay and then my husband and I spent the final five days at Jenny's Place located on wonderful Grand Anse beach. You can read about this beach in the book: The Girl Who Played with Fire by the Swedish author Stieg Larsson. Incidentally I was reading the book while there.

I found Jenny's Place to be clean welcoming and totally friendly and comfortable. They had apparently been closed for some weeks to rejouvenate the place for the Winter season. Everything was nicely painted and in good working order.

Jenny's Place is unique. It is situated on the best beach on the island yet costs a fraction of the price that is charged by many larger hotels on the island that are on the same beach. We could not have gotten better value for our money. the property is safe, welcoming and convenient. The location is 10 minutes from the airport and 10 minutes from the town of St. George's. It is also directly on the local bus route.

The rooms are larger than most hotel rooms and with all the conveniences you could want.
There is even a bath tub in each room for those who like to enjoy a luxurious tub bath.

The restaurant provides some of the best food on the island. We happened to be on a Sunday where the menu included a lovely roast with Yorkshire pudding, all the trimmings, and and an interesting selection of other dishes including calamari and shrimps. There was a delicious chocolate mousse dessert that I tried to get the recipe for. My husband and I found the place very romantic. We enjoyed having a rum punch at the bar while enjoying one of the finest sunsets on the island.

We highly recommend Jenny's Place. We will definitely recommend it to our family and friends but more important, we asked them to book us again for next year. Hope to see you there.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Rose suite (Garden level) it was perfect.

“Wonderful, friendly, hotel”

The first thing to strike you when you arrive at Jenny's is the setting - an impressive building overlooking a beautiful, secluded, garden, at the end of which is a comfortable and attractive outside lounge and the restaurant and bar. The rooms are large and - for the Caribbean - well appointed and spotless. The bed linen is premium stuff and starched - always an important test. Good quality beach towels are provided. The aircon is modern and effective. Rooms either open on to a shaded verandah or long balcony.

The staff are wonderful - relaxed but always trying to make you feel special. The first time we stayed there, we arrived exhausted from a fourteen hour journey at 7 pm and our meal and a cold drink were immediately sorted; I asked for something that was not on the menu and that arrived beautifully cooked. Later, when we needed to leave before breakfast to catch a ferry, an amazing tray of food was prepared for our fridge.

At the end of the restaurant, there are gates that open onto Grande Anse beach - a beautiful 3km curve of white sand with calm, clear, Caribbean water. A short walk along the beach takes you to a small centre where you can buy drinks and snacks, as well as locally produced jewelry, T shirts etc. Across the road is a supermarket and a bank with a 24 hour ATM.

You can get around easily and cheaply by using the local buses - small 12 seater Toyotas - that charge a fixed $3 EC to get into the capital. Don't miss the tours of the Fort, with its secret tunnels and jails where slaves were held.

To summarise - a happy and relaxed place to stay, in a great location. Good value and recommended.

Room Tip: I'd recommend a ground floor room.

“relaxing and convienent”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 October 2011

Jenny's Place is at the far end of Grand Anse beach not far (1-2km) but far enough away from the larger resorts on the same stretch.

Our room was clean, well stocked and had A/C. After a few days the A/C wasn't needed, but still a nice touch. We stayed upstairs, our view of the water from our private balcony was spectacular, sunsets each day were a treat and not to be missed.. We did see ants on the deck only, never in the room, the cobwebs mentioned by the previous review may have been up in the 25 foot beautifully wood paneled ceiling, but besides that no worries on our trip. If you're used to spending hundreds or thousands of dollars per night in the city you may want to continue doing such, but if you like a friendly B&B this is a good fit... Bring your bug spray as well as sunscreen, it will be needed everywhere on Grenada...

The location couldnt be better. You have the great beach out your back door and 50 yards up the hill you can catch the #1 bus to St. Georges or towards the airport. Busses are 1 dollar US or 2.50 EC. It's only about 5-10 minute trip to the main bus terminal and from there you can get anywhere on the island, or just hangout in the city all day, there's plenty to see either way.

The entire staff at Jenny's was very nice, breakfast although light and simple was prompt and served with a smile. Any concerns we had, and there werent many were addressed promptly and without trouble..

Hi-5 to Jenny's thanks for your hospitality!!

Room Tip: upstairs prefered although all seemed nice
