Following my previous report (in 2009 I think), this place remains a delightful place to stay. It has a very friendly atomosphere, and the owner is now Chairman of the local tourism authority - but hopefully retains the cynicism seen in his hotel booklet eg late night emergencies - don't call Ross as he will be sleeping!.
Hiring a car is pretty much a necessity in Grenada, but Indigo at the True Blue offer pretty good deals, although some of their vehicles are showing their age. Service and food at the restaurant remain somewhat a mixed bunch: I personally don't like "Mexican Nights" and so on, but if you have the recommended hire car, there are plenty of other options nearby, and True Blue recommend them in their brochure.
Notwithstanding my comments on the "theme nights", True Blue seems to get in really good groups to provide live music. Bob Marley with a female lead singer and an excellent saxophonist were superb!! Watch out though, Grenada seems to have bred a certain species of show-off "Strictly Come Dancing" type of couple who insist on demonstrating their l;atest "moves" and therefore discouraging anyone who wants to have a quick bop from participating!! It wasn't that way a couple of years back.....
My True Blue room was rather dark, and with little option to lighten it up. Closed blinds bult in to the bdoor double glazing don't help, but afew spotlights or similar vwould be welcome for we poor soul;s who actually come to Grenada on business.
Room Tip: Ask for a room with plenty of light......
