We've now stayed at South Winds three times - in 2004, 2008 and 2011.
The Apartments are nice and roomy with a large bedroom, bathroom, dining and kitchen area. The bedroom is air conditioned and has a cable TV.
The kitchen is well equipped with a decent supply of pots, pans, gas stove, toaster, etc. If what you want isn't there, just ask (we could have had a microwave, if we'd wanted one). For food supplies, there is a good choice of fruit & vegetables available just over the road at the MNIB store in the Excel Plaza, or it's a short walk down the road to the Spiceland Mall with a large IGA supermarket and an excellent selection of shops, bank etc.
It's about 15 minute walk down the hill to what I consider to be the best part of the fabulous Grand Anse beach - just keep going past the Grand Anse roundabout in a seaward direction through the Camerhogne Park and there it is. Glorious!
If you want to eat out, there is a good bar/restaurant called Le Chateau just down the road at the Grand Anse roundabout, and a little bit further on in the Grand Anse Shopping Centre, Rick's Cafe does good pizzas and ice cream.
Overall, I would say that South Winds are good value apartments, set in a convenient location, located near one of the best beaches in the world.
