“Awesome location, great value”

Recently had the opportunity to stay at the Allamanda Beach resort. Originally, I had planned to stay at another hotel but I booked here in order to meet up with a group of people who I would be sailing with. The first night I was not impressed by my room but it was late and I was tired... The room was clean, the pillows great and the bed comfy. The next morning I asked to moved and it was no problem. One of the best assets of this property, aside from its amazing location on Grand Anse beach, are the owners and staff. The owners live on-site and make a point of meeting and remembering every guest. The staff were excellent. Always smiling and ready to help. Very customer oriented!! Rooms are a bit worn around the edges, but large, immaculately clean, with big closets, comfortable beds & pillows, TV, a fridge and coffee maker. The pool is nicely kept. Beach chairs were always readily available and beach towels are available. There is an on-site restaurant and bar and the location puts you within walking distance to a variety of restaurants and food venues. Spiceland mall is across the field and it is a short walk to grab a 'crazy bus' into town. Stay here, save money and enjoy Grenada!!!

“Every visit feels like I am coming home!”

I have stayed several days at the Allamanda at least once a year for the past several years. I look forward to seeing the owners and their delightful staff on each trip. I am truly made to feel like I have returned home!

Allamanda is not a posh luxury accommodation; it is a good, clean, honest and comfortable place to stay. The rooms are equipt with a mini fridge and small coffee maker, AC, ceiling fan, etc. The beds are clean, neat and comfortable. It is very convenient to services of all types; an easy flat walk brings you to a mall with a modern grocery store, bank, ATM and shops, several small restaurants, and even a hardware store! At the edge of the property, catch the local bus to downtown St Georges ($1.00 US or $2.50 EC) to walk the town, visit the spice market, or the shops at the cruise ship mall.

Grand Anse Beach is one of the best on the island. I am amused by those who go on vacation and complain because the "local people" are there too. One of the many pleasures of traveling is to meet and interact with the residents. I've spent many pleasant afternoons getting to know the local folks who share their beach with us tourists. I've learned about some great places to visit; heard stories of the history of the island; learned about their sports and lifestyle.

“I would not stay anywhere else.”

I find this hotel to have it all.Great location, everything you need is within a 10 min walk. The staff are very friendly & sincere. The rooms are clean and safe. The owner lives on site and is always available,The restaurant here is run separately, but the food is very good, made mostly from scratch not a lot of frozen, which most places have. Excellent selection, never had a bad dinner. I stay every year for several months and so do a lot of others. It must be good ,I see the same people come back year after year. I have recommended this hotel to lots of my friends back in Canada, they all felt very welcome here.

“Good Value With Limitations”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2011

Very attractive lobby, basic rooms that seem clean until you notice that the bathroom floor is mopped only in the middle. There's a dark border around the perimeter of the tile (and we stayed in 2 different rooms). Access to a lovely beach and an inviting swimming pool. Allamanda could be a great resort with a bit of spiffing up (touch-up paint, new beach chairs, energetic reception staff, better quality restaurant, pool bar). The staff was helpful, if a bit slow, and the air-conditioned rooms were comfortable. There was just a feeling of a bit of shabby neglect about the place. If you're on a budget or just need a place to hang out before boarding a ship, the Allamanda is acceptable. Be warned, however, that the adjoining restaurant is horrible. Make coffee in your room and go across the street for breakfast.

“Best Value for the Location”

Located right on Grand Anse Beach. You are in the middle of the beach, so it is easy to get to either end. Rooms are clean. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Room included mini fridge, coffee pot and table and chairs for outdoor patio/balcony. Had a lovely view of the Gardens. Nearby several restaurants and a grocery store. I've already booked here for my next trip.
