Arrived at La Tambora on 26th June 2008, after a 9 hour flight from uk and a 2 hour journey by bus. Place looked lovely when I arrived. Went to book in and was told I was only guest and that they were going to be closing in 4 days time due to lack of guests...Had to go and try and find another hotel. Very dissapointing-wouldnt recommend to anyone!!!

I stayed at this hotel during a tour with Motocaribe, a motorcycle touring company (www.motocaribe.com).

The hotel and grounds are gorgeous. The room I had came equipped with a kitchenette, which was stocked with bottled water constantly.

The beach is private and delicious. Some nice waves for body surfing, and there is also a pool. The grounds are absolutely delicious, with pretty plants and impeccable care.

You can hear the surf at night from your room. The AC was cold and quiet in the room, it had a nice bath room, a large wicker armoire and satellite TV.

The staff was very helpful and considerate. They even put out snacks for us, poolside, after our day's riding.

The folks at Motocaribe took care of all our reservations, which was great.

The food consists of a buffet, including dessert, and the hamburger I had one night was the best I've ever had.

Don't miss the omelet station and coffee in the morning.
