The pepole are super smilly... the resort is beautiful but small... The only thing is there no party at night !!! no night club at moment (in renovation)... Great thx to RAMOND FUEGO !!! (the best bartender at main pool) THE MAN TO KNOW IN THE PLACE... The best annimation in the pool (whit is partner Luis). Its a good place to relax.

...our trip started off being booked for 79 people for a wedding...half from canada half from chile...the original hotel was over booked and they tried to split us up at 2 resorts..haha well this was where the spanish came in handy cause the chileans spoke up (not sure it wouldve happened with english speakers only?!?) and after a couple hours were all checked in at the palma real... upgraded to royal rooms with no royal service..which in my opionion is not worth the extra $ anyway but being closer to the beach was definatley a bonus...so good start right? haha most people were tired and frusterated at the miscues and were wary of how this trip might turn out?!?!

....after that it was smooth sailing...just remember that these people strive on tips..i dont wanna say youll get better service if you do but...plan on tipping a couple dollars to each and everyone that goes above and beyond..youll appriciate the service and so will they..that being said haha with a group so big i think we tipped a months wages per day to our waitress on the beach daily haha..they will remember your name, drink of choice..whether you want triples or not...etc....dont bring your 1 litre cooler ..you look like a fool and really its unnecessary...

Wedding was perfect...from what i understood there was a surcharge for just about everything involved but works the same way at most if not all resorts and with such a large group to be expected..i was just along for the ride but all service and ammenities seemed to be in order and well taken care of...dinner was amazing surf n turf in private ballroom with DJ and dancing.

2 people stood out for me..one was "charlie" he works at the towel bar..this guy will make arrangements for anything and "everything"...very personable..good english...and isnt pushy as he works 100% on commision...the guys that walk around on the beach trying to sell you trips i understand are only doing their jobs but sometimes I just wanna be left alone...but "charlie" Juan is is real name just explains what there is and if you dont see it ...ask him hell get it or arrange it ..cheaper than through your tour guides as well with no BS....as a group we booked all our excursions through him..dune buggys (do this as you get three trips in 1 ..little bit of shopping swimming at one of nicest beaches in dominican and of course ripping through mudpuddles. in a 4 wheel...good times..., trip for shopping, & imagine bar( GO HERE!! AND GET VIP SERVICE its worth the extra $ to have a place to sit and home base) very cool bar in caves...just dont miss your 3 am bus back to the resort haha...
the other was Bianca...she was personable didnt speak perfect english made mistakes with our orders but worked her but off...like i said few dollars here and there she will always make sure you have a drink.. remember your name and in general made our trip great...she even found some flowers for the girls in wedding to wear in their hair....10 + flowers and no charge very cool..
understand that there are many people on the beach all wanting 5* service...most not wanting but expecting..be a little patient and understanding...your on Dominican time...
rooms were well kept..and cleaned and didnt have any complaints..other people around the resort were always smiling and keeping busy....restaurants were average and booking was never a problem...but prefered the buffet bar...as seat always available at any time and food was good to above average...saying that... it wasnt the best ive had...with good selection but nothing that seemed above and beyond..but good....impossible for such a large group to be together but everyone had their own shedules anyway and they were accomidating as best they could....I rarley go back to same resorts twice...only becuase i want a different experience each time..but if i could take this staff to another resort..i know it would be great...from what i understand Pardisus treats their staff well and it shows in their service where as other hotels just treat them as "staff" and they just show up to work..nothing more..

side note there was some issues about towels and reserving chairs...i woke up early..and hung over for the most part and never had a problem getting a shady spot on the beach...some of the more coveted pool bungalows seemed to be reserved nightly?!?! as we went back to our rooms in the early a.m. someone would leave a book or something to reserve?!?! liitle bit shady in my opionion but its the way it works here..so if you sleep in you might not get the premium spot but seemed there was enough room non the less..or do as i did..just remove the towel and when the person shows up at noon!??!?! just say there wasnt a towel here sorry....haha should be first come first serve and i think the hotel should look at this...maybe have staff remove all towels and belongings before 6-7 am?!....and if you get up to reserve at this time you deseve your spot...if not then tough...

Just got back from vacation with my sisters and my 25 year old niece. We were there celebrating my 50th birthday. We opted for the Royal Service after reading some of the reviews prior to going on vacation. I can not say enough about how pleased we were with the entire property. From the time we stepped off the transfer bus from the airport, we were greeted immediately and sent to the Royal Service Lounge were Andrea explained the hotel and our service. She was professional, pleasant and put our mind at ease that we made the right hotel choice. Carlos was our butler and he too was incredibly professional. I must say that Fransisco and Pedro who work the beach and pool went above and beyond their duties. if we could have taken them home with us, we would have. All of us were pampered to the point of living a Royal Life. My older sister can always find fault with something, and even she could not say anything negative about the hotel and the entire staff that we interacted with, including the cleaning service. If I had to say one negative thing about the hotel, I would say that I too think that the drinks were watered down. Realizing this, during the day time we would ask for triple floaters on our Coco Locos as well as side shot to add to the drink. In the evening, I drink Jack on the rocks, it may have taken 2 drinks more to catch a buzz. As for the food, really, I am seeing all these bad reviews on the food. If you make reservations at some of the restaurants, the food was fair. As for the Buffet, it is better than most all-inclusives that I have been too. If anyone goes to an all-inclusive and expects 4 star meals, then they shouldn't be going to an all-inclusive.

While the Royal Service has it's own pool, the action at the main pool is where we spent much of the late afternoons. Ramon is all the entertainment needed at this resort. In a nutshell........the property is gorgeous. The rooms are large and exceptionally clean. The staff is friendly and accomodating. The food is not as terrible as what you are reading on these reviews. We lok forward to making The Paradisus Palma Real a yearly trip. Can't wait to go back. I miss it already.

The hotel is gorgoeus, the beach is amazing, the people serving in the hotel are great, food is awesome, activities are well organized, rooms are so comfortable.
This is a great place for a vacation!
if you want it for business, well, it is not that good becuase the wireless network is really bad, they do not have a good solution.
